It goes against my better judgment to blog a whole bunch on an off day, but we just got too much going on.
One of the best charity gigs by a Maverick player has started up and will be front and center at Wednesday's game.
Jason Terry's third annual coat drive will have its collection night at AAC for the game against the Spurs.
From 7 p.m. until the end of the first quarter (remember, 8:30 tipoff), fans can contribute used or new coats, jackets, sweaters, whatever outside of sections 109 and 122.
All fans that make a donation will get a $5 Dave & Buster's power card and a buy-one, get-one voucher to select Mavs games.
If you can't make it to the game, you can donate gear at all D & B locations until Nov. 30. After the coat drive is over, Terry will deliver the coats to a local homeless shelter.
And there's more. For every coat collected, Reebok is throwing in a pair of new shoes.
Terry is one of many Mavs who do plenty for the community. It never gets enough publicity in the paper because we simply don't have enough space. But they are to be commended for their efforts.
