So I wrote yesterday briefly about the Jason Kidd trade to the Mavs, which at the time seemed imminent. However, after a couple of interesting developments, maybe not so much.

You Wouldn't Agree to a Trade to New Jersey, Either.

It's silly that Devean George, who averages 3.6 ppg, has a no-trade clause. But don't blame him....blame the system. And furthermore.......you sure as hell wouldn't accept a trade to North Jersey, either.

BLOCKED !!!!

This one deserves an "OH SNAP!!!" JKidd has just been picked and blocked by a "B Team" forward. Things just hit the fan. Devean George has control of his contract and he can veto the trade if he does not like how it will turn out. So as of right now Jason Kidd is not going anywhere. "After Dallas beat Portland on Wednesday night, Mavs coach Avery Johnson said there...

NBA: Mavericks' Devean George blocks Kidd trade with Nets (he can do that?)

As we reported yesterday (Looks like Kidd will be heading back to the Mavericks) , the New Jersey Nets and the Dallas Mavericks are trying to work out a trade that would bring All-Star Guard Jason Kidd to the Mavericks. However, late last night the deal was put on hold due to Mavericks guard Devean George not signing off on the trade.

Separated at Birth: Sean 3000

While the sophs hammered the rooks last night, Dunbar noticed the strong resemblance of Nets forward Sean Williams and Outkast's Andre 3000.

Nets bite another one!

Nets can't get rid of kidd for nothing. Who wants to go to the nets?

Devean George Blocks Kidd Trade

Not so fast on that Jason Kidd trade to the Mavs. Devean George stopped the deal in its tracks, we wonder what happens from here.

Kidd Traded To Dallas

Sources told ESPN.com that the Mavericks and Nets on Wednesday reached an agreement in principle on a Kidd deal after talks had seemingly stalled last week, moving the teams to brink of completing the NBA's third blockbuster deal of the month.

Devean George Blocks Kidd Deal With No-Trade Clause!?!

According to ESPN, Devean George will exercise his rare no-trade clause to block a proposed blockbuster trade that would have sent Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks. We chronicled the trade and its fantasy impact on FBP earlier today , but apparently it is NOT going to go through.

Kevin Willis could crush a basketball with his bare hands

In case you forgot, Kevin Willis had humongous biceps, could rebound his face off, and perfected the triple-threat position. Here's a refresher...

Suns beat Mavs 109-97 in final game before break

Stoudemire and Barbosa scored 26 points each while Steve Nash added 24 points and 13 rebounds as the Suns beat the Mavs, 109-97, in the final game before the All-Star break last night. The Suns' gritty performance and good shooting (41-for-72 on FG), especially in the 4th quarter, was the difference as the Mavs were outscored 32-24 in the final period.

Public Enemy No. 1?

LeBron James and Jay-Z Host First Annual "Two Kings" Dinner A lot of times it's much easier to dish out the advice than it is to follow your own advice. I literally just wrote a couple days ago that we need to all collectively just sit back and enjoy the LeBron show while we can and stop frantically worrying about where LeBron may or may not go in the summer of 2010.

Kidd Deal Blocked

ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that Devean George is exercising his no-trade clause in order to block the blockbuster deal that would have sent Jason Kidd to Dallas in exchange for George, Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager and two first round picks.

Who Can Kidd At A Time Like This?

Maybe the Mavs are just trying to keep up with the Joneses (Lakers & Suns) by making a move — any move — for a big name to join them in the arms race out West. Not that Kidd isn't great — he most definitely is — but the apparent imbalance makes it believable that panic caused Mavs owner Mark Cuban to keep nodding his head as the Nets kept piling on the demand request (dessert) tray.

Kidd Headed To Dallas - But Is It A Year Too Late?

Jason Kidd appears like he is finally headed to Dallas. However, in a loaded Western Conference, is this move enough to put Dallas over the hump?
