Shaquille O'Neal and Jason Kidd both made debuts with their new teams last night; unfortunately both the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks lost. However, both players impact on their respective team was undeniable.

I was able to watch most of the Mavs game. Kidd's impact was not bad, but with just two practices, it wasn't a sterling performance. He got schooled by Chris Paul, who is probably the best gaurd in the NBA right now. The Mavs just finished a greuling road trip with that game. There were a lot of positives to Kidd's game that Harris does not have. I think they will come together in a couple of games. Plus, Stackhouse didn't play.
I didn't get to see much of the Suns game, but I from what I did see, Shaq was his usual self near the basket and ran the floor a tad better than what I thought he would, but he didn't have a commanding peformance either.

Shaq did run the floor well but how long will that last?

Probaby until his back or hip give out again. I wonder how much Icy Hot they are selling these days? It doesn't seem to work for him. I think that the Mavs have a few days of rest and then a home game early next week. I think we'll see a much sharper team out on the floor for the Mavs. Last night's game was against the best in the West right now and the Mavs were definitely out of sync, although I didn't expect them to win that game anyway.

I thought Shaq was pretty good last night, especially in the second half. Even with the loss.
Did anyone notice D'antoni didn't bring Nash back in until halfway through the 4th? It's not like it was a blowout...I don't know what on earth he was thinking waiting so long. Oh well...he's coach, he knows best I suppose.

I think they are still trying to figure out that offense and seeing who plays well with who. Last night was an experiment...

D'Antoni always rests Nash for long periods of time. Nash tends to run out of gas late in games and the playoffs if he doesn't get spelled for good periods of time. Was the same way here in Dallas.

I know that D'Antoni rests him at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth, but he usually brings him in at about the 8 or 9 minute mark, especially when it's a close game against a tough team. You rarely see Nash come in at the 6 minute mark during a game like that. Last nights game was really important and we really did need the win. I'm not so sure it was the optimum time to "experiment". But I guess they know what they're doing.

I didn't watch much of it. Was Nash in any kind of foul trouble?
