Along with US$83million (?60million) tax free, Kobe would also receive a yacht, and villa on the Mediterranean from the Athenian team Olympiacos BC. The report also mentions that Olympiacos would renovate Peace & Friendship Arena to bring seating capacity to between 15,000 and 20,000 and put the Greek stadium on par with an NBA gym.

  • It won't be U.S. tax free. And after Obama is done, Kobe may opt for Greek citizenship along with the 83 million. A villa on the Med sounds pretty nice. That 83 million basically buys one house (a big one) on the beach in LA. :)

This is where he lives now. I don't think Obama's wealth redistribution tax will hurt him all that much.

  • It doesn't matter, Kobe Me Bryant will be unhappy there as well as any other place that he ever goes.

I guess Lakers fans are okay with that, too, as long as he keeps putting W's on the board. But it matters, not because it's Kobe, but because of the implications.

Ralph, was that really necessary? This is a post about sports and business. I don't let politics mix with my blog. I try to write a light hearted site, and bring people information about basketball outside the NBA. The case was years ago, and for you to hold a grudge when the vast majority of the planet have forgiven and forgotten Kobe (since the case was dismissed), just tells me you need to get over it, him and yourself. But don't try to politicize my blog.
