Life as a So So Rookie in the NBA

The "new" Bobby Jones doesn't get mistakenly confused in Philadelphia for the other former 76er great Bobby Jones. Especially not with his lack of scoring prowless or his inability to work on the glass, but he is (or pardon me was) known for his hustle and defense. The problem is that he was never good enough last year to see many minutes on the floor. So Philadelphia traded him along with Steven Hunter to Denver this off season for Reggie Evans. Now it looks as though he will reconnect with former 76er star Allen Iverson, for whom he was a lap dog for when "AI" was still in Philadelphia.

They managed to pay him $400 for his 30 minutes of Bodyguard duty. The Answer also had Jones handle the usual rookie duties like carry his sneakers, valet his Bentley, and get breakfast for him too.

"They say you're still a rookie until the first game your second season," said Jones, who was a rookie last season with Philadelphia.

If that's the case, it looks like Iverson will have his old gopher back just in time for camp in a few weeks.

New Denver Nugget, Bobby Jones...
