With the 2008 NBA draft only days away, the trade rumors and pre-draft jitters by teams have already begun to fly around the league. After bringing in Coach D'Antoni and with the many high priced contracts the Knicks have on the team, the loss of Lee and Rose could be beneficial to the Knicks in the future. The Knicks are looking for a fresh team with new faces to make a new start and to allow fans to forget about the past four seasons. With a new coach and a new president, Donny Walsh, the Knicks are hoping the new faces can mesh with the ...

After the draft lottery, the Memphis Grizzlies have been slotted to the #19 spot for their first round pick. Our 48th pick is going to Seattle.

no lay-uppers equals big downers

Does anybody else feel a little wary of the draft process this year? I have been living in Memphis for a couple of years and following the Memphis Grizzlies, it seems to me that teams are made or broken by their draft picks. The 2006 NBA Playoffs were centered around the experience of the Steve Nashs and the Shaquille O'Neals. I propose the best way to beat this kind of tall...

First Impressions

A few days ago, last night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies seemed like nothing special, but with after Thursday's trade went down in which the Wine and Gold acquired Ben Wallace, Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, and Joe Smith, everyone was looking at this game to get a gauge of how the remainder ...

Josh Smith signs offer sheet with Grizzlies

Josh Smith just signed a 5-year, $58M offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Hawks have a chance to match this offer, so we'll see what happens. If the Grizzlies do get Smith, apparently they plan on using him at the 4-spot. They've already got Conley, Mayo, and Gay as the long-term starters in their backcourt. Can you say, more talented version of the recent...

College Ball Turns My Head

I am very distracted by March Madness right now. I know the Memphis Grizzlies are played the Denver Nuggets Friday, but I was more interested in watching the Texas Longhorns beat Pennsylvania. College basketball is so raw and entertaining. I feel the same way about college football. I just can't get enough of watching these young guys blossom and find their talents.

Dallas Mavericks fans in unlikely places.

I have been cheering for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Playoffs. I just can't resist watching all their games. I love to watch Dirk Nowitzki who has been an integral part of all the Mavericks wins in the two rounds. The Mavs got plenty of rest after shutting out the Memphis Grizzlies and it has sho...

Glen Davis

I didn’t see a second of this game - so I’ll leave the analysis up to the Associate Press: Glen Davis scored 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, and the Boston Celtics pulled away in the second half for a 105-87 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night. Ray Allen added 20 points and six assists, while [...]
