Most Underpaid Players In The NBA

I know what you are thinking. There is no such thing as an underpaid player in the NBA. Truer words were never spoken; however, there are quite a few players who are not getting paid relative to the other guys in the league.

Here is a quick run-down of the 10 guys who I think are getting less for their efforts.

Monta is such a Beast.....fastest player in the NBA.....hardest player to guard in the open floor in the NBA.....us here in the Bay Area like to call him the Mississippi Bullet!!!! Monta just needs to keep doing his thing and the money will come.

Monte Ellis is one of the fastest guys in the NBA, but I don't know if you could label him as the fastest. I could name at least three others that would give him a run for his money.

the only one who is close is Leandro Barbosa..but Monta got him beat

For a guy that can't even spell his name right, I don't know if I can trust you... If you're a fan of him, you should know his name is Monte not Monta... Leandro Barbosa is faster in my opinion. The thing that seperates Monte Ellis from everyone else is that he's got a rocket up his butt and is ready for take off. The dude can cruise and fly. However, if you want names of faster guys, I would be glad to name them.

Actually, my bad... His name could be Monta, I always thought it was Monte... I found it spelled both ways on either nba.com or espn.com or realgm.com... Anyone know the real way to spell it??? I'm confused now.

go to this website (www.and1.com) and check out the lil video on the right that says Monta Ellis Toot
Toot

WOW! Monta! I am shocked at that one. The dubs are going to have to come out of pocket to keep him around for much longer.
I think I would be pissed if I was Steve Nash and they bring on Shaq making almost twice as much.

Um, yeah, it's called rookie contracts for everyone beside LBJ, Wade and Nash.
Dwight's contract gets more than doubled next year, K-Mart's will jump to about 10 mil a year, Monta will get a ton of cash thrown at him, DLee will get around 5-8, JSmooth will get around $70 mil, Paul will prolly sign a max extension, Iggy will get about $40-60 mil.

You should do one with people who aren't in their rookie contracts.

I just hope they can keep Monta and give Baron the contract extension.

Now, I doubt it comes down to it, but if the Warriors could only give big money to Monta OR Bdiddy, who would you give it to?

If we're talking 6 years, 60+ mil, I think you have to go with Monta. Davis will prolly want something similar, or more than what Vince Carter got - 4 years, 60 mil.

That kind of question makes my palm sweaty.
I love to watch Monta make those highlight worthy plays but his defense freaks me out a little. Gotta give the big moolah to the beard. He's more well rounded in general. Although if Monta continues improving at his current rate I will gladly eat my words. Lastnight for example....

Martin's making $11 million per year for 5 years. Kings jumped on him ASAP. Only him and Howard signed extensions last summer. Iggy couldn't work one out. Monta was drafted #40 in the draft. All these guys are getting cash in the future.

This article needs to point out that a lot of this guys are second year players and still in their rookie signing contracts. Put what they make on the web in two or three years when they all sign a new contract. I would like to see that. Lebron and Dwight and Nash make so much money in endorsements its redonkulous.

yeah that first rookie contract isnt a good judgement because they are pre set. I agree Nash, LBJ and Wade are underpaid but LBJ i think and Nash want it that way so they can afford to have more talent around them.

do over! (without rookie deals)

Monta definitely should be making more money... He's 'da man!

can someone please tell Mr. Spellcheck (mickeyd27) that Monta Ellis name is spelled Monta and not Monte. Get over yourself dude.

I already said my bad dude... Chill... Don't cry about it.

dont get your hopes up..i'm not that mad I just dont like when people try to make me sound stupid when I know what i'm talkin about....especially on the internet

Well, if it makes you feel better, I actually feel pretty stupid because I honestly thought his name was spelled Monte and the whole world spelled his name wrong... I guess I was the dumb one. It's like when people say Deron Williams name, most people say it wrong and say Dee-Ron Williams when its just pronounced Derren.

If you google monte ellis you get sites that spell it both monte and monta. nba.com spells it both ways depending on where you are on their site. very odd

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=monte+ellis&btnG=Google+Search

Well the Suns played the Warriors last night and despite nash, amare and the baron on the court clearly that night ellis was the best player on either team. he is on an unreal tear right now and if it holds up holy cow is he underpaid. he'll get rich bigtime with his next contract. same with roy and paul.

Chris Paul's salary is unbelievably low.

chris paul is off the chain

Good job with those players as they all deserve to be on the list. Here is my revision of that same list:
11- Dwayne Wade - 12.45 - that much money makes me say anyone is underpaid, even if it may be true by NBA Standards. However, his struggles with shoulder and the poor record of Miami has him ranked 11th.
10- Steve Nash - 11.40 - Best point guard in the league but with age and miles, despite be underpaid, the others guys on this list deserve to be ahead.
09- Josh Smith - 2.20 - Solid Centerpiece in the rebuilding and playoff bound Hawks?!?!?!?
08- David Lee - 990,000 - 10 pts, 8 boards this year and very underpaid but value on team is less than top 7 on my list
07- LeBron James - 12.45 - reason why he is not down lower with Nash-Wade is because take James off the Cavs and they are absolutely HORRENDOUS. Same can be said about Nash even though they would still win some games and Miami who would be just as bad without Wade but difference is, with James in Cavs lineup, they are winning games, Miami is not right now with Wade.
06- Kevin Martin - 1.80 - 24 points per game, 40%+ from 3's? UNDERPAID!
05- Andre Iguodala - 2.80 - future of 76ers consistently puts up solid all-around games and the centerpiece of franchise at only 2.8 is UNDERPAID!
04- Brandon Roy - 2.90 - Current rookie of year, face of franchise, all around great player, locker room presence ALREADY and has Blazers in hunt of playoffs in the power house Western conference...
03- Dwight Howard - 6.10 - 21 points, 14 rebounds is just rediculous. Consider he is only 22, the face of the franchise, one of the faces of NBAs future, good all around guy, good teammate, changes game on defense, tough to defend on offense. Oh and made people in Orlando forget about former big man in middle named Shaq!
02- Monta Ellis - 770,610 - one of fastest players in NBA, tough to defend, and all the other accolades you yardbarkers placed on him are true and then some!
01- Chris Paul - 3.60 - can score, and can more importantly get scoring opportunities for teammates. has team contending in western conference and winning northwest division. the accolades can go on for a long time...

and can we find room for Deron Williams, Utah on this list, only 4- million

monte ellis is the faster player in the nba WIT A BASKETBALL
he mite not be the fastest wit out it
but wit it he runs like a runningback
hes the best under rated player

monta ellis 700k
