never seen that before in a basketball game. i saw that and was disappointed in the blazers and the refs. then there was the phantom call on tony allen where it was a non shooting foul (fouled almost at the top of the key), but he mysteriously went to the line and knocked down a pair, and that made up for it. but you're right, refs need to step their game up because one of these nights a call like that is going to decide an important game.

What about the two traveling calls on Oden and one on Bayless that were b.s.

true and the paul pierce and-1 that was clearly a travel. i don't think that redsarmy is trying to say that officiating decided the game, but just that they need to do a better job PERIOD!

I cant believe they didnt take away those two points, and just give us one. Still doesnt make sense.. In a game decided by 4 pts, those two points were critical.

it was 5 by the way. 91-86. but yea they dropped the ball on that play.
  • its the rule, albiet a dumb one, so there was nothing the refs could do about the points.

I didn't see the game but will agree officials in every sport need to be held accountable. Maybe pay them more but fine them when it is shown they've made such bad calls. If the amount of their pay is based on the correctness of their calls (or lack there of), they may think about it a little more and make a more evenly called game.

the refs were allfull on both ends. how do u not no if u have 6 players on the court? Thats kinda of a huge mistake if ur a coach or a player on the trailblazers. all refs need to be is consistent on both ends of the court and actully in all sports. The fair thing to do was take there 2 points away and give the celtics a tech.
i dont get how 1 team can make a huge mistake and the other team has 2 suffer 4 it.

They should have taken back that basket. That being said, it was in the second quarter, and they had a lead as late as the third! They didn't lose that game because of that one basket. If it was the final basket of the game that put the Blazers over the top, then I could see it as a reasonable excuse.

If ya aint cheatin' ya aint tryin'. GO BLAZERS!!!
  • Lakerhater
You got to love Lamarcus b#$^% slapping that punk Garnett!
    • BisforBlazers
That was the icing on the cake! Garnett just looked at the ref like a big baby!

By the way, when Portland was in Boston, there were some downright horrific calls, people. Welcome to the world of small market teams with no national superstars! We get bad calls all the time!

And missing 6 players is more of gross oversight, then a bad call. Doesn't mean they don't suck though!

i agree portland is a great young team and they got some bad calls mostly in the first quarter and some really bad traveling calls.

If you're a Blazer fan you hate the refs. At least B-ROY is starting to get some calls though but that doesn't change what they did to us in game 7 of the western confrence finals 8 or so years ago, and guess who was blowin whistles that game, if you said Donaghy you would be right. What a joke that guy was and still is.
    • nlp123
      donaghy needs to be fired
