The Blazers came out of a timeout late in the 2nd quarter with 6 players on the court and scored a quick bucket. It wasn’t until KG screamed at the officials did they realize the situation. So they huddled and assessed a technical foul to the Blazers. But in a decision that will forever baffle [...]

  • never seen that before in a basketball game. i saw that and was disappointed in the blazers and the refs. then there was the phantom call on tony allen where it was a non shooting foul (fouled almost at the top of the key), but he mysteriously went to the line and knocked down a pair, and that made up for it. but you're right, refs need to step their game up because one of these nights a call like that is going to decide an important game.
  • What about the two traveling calls on Oden and one on Bayless that were b.s.
  • true and the paul pierce and-1 that was clearly a travel. i don't think that redsarmy is trying to say that officiating decided the game, but just that they need to do a better job PERIOD!
  • I cant believe they didnt take away those two points, and just give us one. Still doesnt make sense.. In a game decided by 4 pts, those two points were critical.
  • it was 5 by the way. 91-86. but yea they dropped the ball on that play.
  • its the rule, albiet a dumb one, so there was nothing the refs could do about the points.
  • I didn't see the game but will agree officials in every sport need to be held accountable. Maybe pay them more but fine them when it is shown they've made such bad calls. If the amount of their pay is based on the correctness of their calls (or lack there of), they may think about it a little more and make a more evenly called game.
  • the refs were allfull on both ends. how do u not no if u have 6 players on the court? Thats kinda of a huge mistake if ur a coach or a player on the trailblazers. all refs need to be is consistent on both ends of the court and actully in all sports. The fair thing to do was take there 2 points away and give the celtics a tech.
i dont get how 1 team can make a huge mistake and the other team has 2 suffer 4 it.
  • They should have taken back that basket. That being said, it was in the second quarter, and they had a lead as late as the third! They didn't lose that game because of that one basket. If it was the final basket of the game that put the Blazers over the top, then I could see it as a reasonable excuse.
  • If ya aint cheatin' ya aint tryin'. GO BLAZERS!!!
  • You got to love Lamarcus b#$^% slapping that punk Garnett!
  • That was the icing on the cake! Garnett just looked at the ref like a big baby!

By the way, when Portland was in Boston, there were some downright horrific calls, people. Welcome to the world of small market teams with no national superstars! We get bad calls all the time!

And missing 6 players is more of gross oversight, then a bad call. Doesn't mean they don't suck though!
  • i agree portland is a great young team and they got some bad calls mostly in the first quarter and some really bad traveling calls.
  • I'VE SAID IT THEN AND I'LL SAY IT NOW (THE REFS ARE F**KED UP) AND THEY STILL CONTINUE 2 MAKE SOME BAD ASS CALLS. AND (GET PAID 4 THOSE BULL SHIT CALLS). I KNOW REFS ON THE STREET THAT REF BETTER THAN THEY DO, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME..........LOL :0)
  • If you're a Blazer fan you hate the refs. At least B-ROY is starting to get some calls though but that doesn't change what they did to us in game 7 of the western confrence finals 8 or so years ago, and guess who was blowin whistles that game, if you said Donaghy you would be right. What a joke that guy was and still is.
  • donaghy needs to be fired
  • Um...i think he was already fired. How bout indicted?
  • NBA's officiating is disgusting.

Trail Blazers And Turn Overs Give Celtics Another West Coast Loss 91-86

They say that many times a wounded animal is at it's most dangerous, and that certainly proved to be the case for the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night. The Blazers were without All-Star guard Brandon Roy who was suffering from a hamstring injury. Portland's center Greg Oden was banged up as he was dealing with a sore ankle. The fans at the Rose Garden would leave the arena...

If you want to go fast, go alone" but "If you want to go far, go together.?

Celtics lose to Portland. Now in 3 way loss tie..

The Portland Trail Blazers are a good team, especially with Roy. But once I found out that he wasn't going to play, I was confident in the C's being able to play a great game. But, I was once again dissapointed by my C's, who have dropped to 5 losses now. Now we're in a three way tie for losses with the Cavs, (the only team that scares me), and the Lakers. We dropped...

Quick Blazers/Celtics Pre-Thoughts

Well, almost glad my internet went out on me until about an hour until the game started. My pre-thoughts would have been crapped on with the news that Brandon Roy is listed as doubtful. I'm guessing doubtful means o-u-t. My personal take? I don't think he should play and really he should take as ...

Live from the Rose Garden - Blazers, Celtics

-That first quarter didn't go so well. The Blazers look like they've concentrated on their transition defense, as they have knocked a few long outlet passes out of the way. Oden and LaMarcus have manned up in the post just fine, but turnovers are crippling Portland. Bayless had his first pass of ...

((Sighs)) Celtic fans, should we be upset?

Where do I even start? Let's rewind it back a couple of games, shall we? Celtics VS. Lakers: My thoughts? Well, since Boston is my favorite team, of course I would've routed for them to win, (obviously like any good fan would) but come on, the Lakers have been pissed off with us since we took the Championship from them, so I would've expected them to take this one...

Blazers/Celtics Instant Re-Thoughts

Don't want to push down the excellent work that Coup has been doing from the Garden, but let me tell you this much:Probably my favorite Blazer win of the Nate Era and I feel like in March we will look back to this date.Ecstatic.

Fearless Sports Predictions for 2009

Fearless Sports Predictions for 2009. Happy New Year to all the great folks out there. 2008 had some memorable sports moments between Phelps at the Olympics, Boston’s Celtics finally reclaiming the big prize, and Peyton’s little brother Eli making a name for himself. I am sure 2009 will hold ...

Oden/Roy questionable against Celtics

Not much to speculate on here, the article says it all. Please spare the web the pain of "Oden is injury prone, we should have picked Durant" garbage. It sounds like all Greg did was get tripped up near the end of practice and that happens to everybody. Considering what happened the last time ...

Blazers, Celtics Pre-Bonus Coverage

I'm in the building tonight and will have plenty of coverage later on (I think I'm going to do some in-game updates for you). Roy is confirmed out and Rudy will start, with Bayless getting the backup minutes. Since Blogger won't let me put up audio, I have to make movies of it to get it up here. ...

15 Thoughts vs. Boston 12/30

Rematch!  After getting bullied destroyed by Boston less than a month ago, "your" Portland Trail Blazers get another shot at them and this time it's in the RG.  Oden and Roy are questionable but we all know Brandon will find a way to play while I can't necessarily say the same for ...

Kobe Bryant interviewed by Magic Johnson, Video

Kobe Bryant interviewed by Magic Johnson, Video. This took place Christmas Day. These 2 Laker Legends sit down and converse. Kobe admits that the Celtics were tougher. He does not admit that he thinks the Redeem Team could beat the Dream Team. He does admit that he wants to guard MJ. Kobe admits ...

Comments from the Other Side - Blazers

I don't ever want to hear Blazers fans complain about Mike and Tommy. Their announcers were awful. At least the Celtics have Mike to be objective to Tommy's homerism. Both of the Blazers announcers were terrible. Allowing the basket after that 6 man play was terrible and even most of the ...
