After a listless effort in their opener, the Portland Trailblazers won a nailbiter at home against a tough San Antonio Spurs team on Friday night. The Blazers are loaded with rookie of the year candidates as many picked Greg Oden to win the award heading into the season. Rookie Spaniard Rudy Fernandez has been another trendy pick after his solid performance against Team USA in the Olympic gold medal matchup. A few even thought that maybe Jerryd Bayless could potentially surprise some people t...

I was at the game tonight, and damn that kid can ball. Was pretty sketchy about KP picking him instead of kopenen, but like I always say, in KP we trust. Man he can scout them.

That was a thriller at the end!
Gotta love that the arena was jam packed. Did you catch the unfortunate Warriors game? The Toronto arena was EMPTY!
      Sad.
Win lose or draw - you gotta show up for your team!

True to your point though, we had the best margin of scoring in the Phoenix game with Batum at SF

Yeah agreed. From what I have seen out of Batum is that his bball IQ is already much higher then Travis, I like Travis a lot, but I dont know. He has really taken some bad shots, still early in the season, so no real predictions for me.

And the ROY award is messed up, look at the Al Horford his rookie season was crazy good, but Durant still picked it up. Mainly just on a point per basis scale.

I think if all our rookies had minutes they would all be in talks. Bayless, Rudy, Batum, Oden.

You never know, Oden or Rudy could really get into a flow later in the season.

But my money is on Rose.

i really want trout to prove me wrong, but i think batum might be starting in a week or two.
good call on rose, but if he's going to get ROY he really needs to help the players around him.
rudy brings a lot of the intangibles to the table and those don't really matter in ROY awards, so he's got the odds against him. those offensive rebounds last night by him were huge.
I personally think Beasley is still the guy to beat.

But really, I think KP really sold his soul to the devil. How does he pick dudes up like this. I looked at Batum and was like WTF, are we retarted for picking him up?

But KP pulls it out again. I want KP to do my fantasy league for me.

haha, good call. If this were baseball I wonder how much the Yanks would throw his way?
