The Blazers are loaded with rookie of the year candidates as many picked Greg Oden to win the award heading into the season. Rookie Spaniard Rudy Fernandez has been another trendy pick after his solid performance against Team USA in the Olympic gold medal matchup. Gotta love that the arena was jam packed. Did you catch the unfortunate Warriors game? The Toronto arena was EMPTY!
Sad.
Win lose or draw - you gotta show up for your team!

And the ROY award is messed up, look at the Al Horford his rookie season was crazy good, but Durant still picked it up. Mainly just on a point per basis scale.
I think if all our rookies had minutes they would all be in talks. Bayless, Rudy, Batum, Oden.
You never know, Oden or Rudy could really get into a flow later in the season.
But my money is on Rose.

good call on rose, but if he's going to get ROY he really needs to help the players around him.
rudy brings a lot of the intangibles to the table and those don't really matter in ROY awards, so he's got the odds against him. those offensive rebounds last night by him were huge.
I personally think Beasley is still the guy to beat.
