You the man Melo. I know the refs weren't exactly watching the game..but we can't walways rely on good calls to get what we want. I agree with you on your free-throws. Those will either make or break the game. Your'e right though, those games could have been ours, but we just let them slip by. Melo, I love what you have been doing since the bigs are out, and Eddie with his elbow injury. Getting to the boards and getting rebounds! That's your job when Camby is on the bench. I look forward to seeing you back in home against Utah, we need to get the lead back over Portland!! Utah isn't that far back as it is. I have prayed every day for Nene's speedy recovery and return. If you remember me from this blog, tell him personally that God is with him and watching down upon him. Him, and his family (meaning his personal family, and you the Nuggets) Also, wish Atkins a speedy recovery too, and with K-Mart and his sudden absence. God Bless you Melo and the whole team. JR did a good job being the 3rd scorer last game but there was nobody else.

I would like to put a summary of all my comments in the following:

* YES, ALL OF YOU NEED TO PRACTICE FREE THROWS AND 3-POINTERS TOO! MAKE ENOUGH IN PRACTICE FOR IT TO BE SECOND NATURE. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT, OR DANG NEAR CLOSE! =)

* Y'ALL NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DEFEND THE 3-POINTER AS WELL. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TEAMS CAN BEAT US WHEN CAMBY, MARTIN, YOURSELF & NENE ARE PROTECTING THE PAINT. The 3-Pointer is our ACHILLES' HEEL on both OFFENSE AND DEFENSE.

* YOU, CAMBY and AI Keep doing what you're doing but since the COACH seems to not concentrate on the Nugget's problem areas YOU, CAMBY and AI need to be playing COACHES or FLOOR GENERALS and tell your team mates what they should be working on. HAVE JR, AC and Kleiza MAKE at least 50 3-Pointers every practice or somethin like that! ;) ADDRESS YOUR WEAKNESSES.

* NEVER EXPECT THE REFEREES TO MAKE THE CALL, NEVER. ALWAYS ASSUME THEY WON'T. THAT WAY YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED.

* I STILL THINK THAT YOU, CAMBY & AI COULD HAVE THE DEADLIEST SET PLAYS SUCH AS PICK & ROLLS A LA STOCKTON & MALONE.

Other than that, WE (Denver Nuggets 6th Men) will patiently wait for OUR TEAM to come back FAST & FURIOUS. You will have to make the necessary adjustments without NENE and MARTIN but you guys can do it.

ANYBODY KNOW WHAT OUR RECORD WAS WITH MELO, AI, CAMBY, MARTIN & NENE all playin?

Thought you guys should have beat both Charlotte and ATL. Play strong as this year goes, and rep in the playoffs.

I never missed any game you guys play. I was wonder what happen to you missed all this free throw. If you lose your control, sits at the bench 30 second to one minute and figure it out. what went wrong, then come back strong.

Rough couple of games there, could barely bear to watch them. I think you guys need more team defense, there is hardly any rotation and when there is its always late. Like you say though, its a long season, still plenty of time to get it all right. Hope Nene gets some good news on the health front and has a speedy recovery. GO NUGGETS, lets play some D.

Yes, any team can beat any other team on any given night. But you guys aren't just any team. You guys are special and we're just waiting as fans for the proof of 48 minutes defense every night.
Also, don't discount the mental aspect of the game. A lot of these teams find out that it's easier than expected - make them believe their next shot is not coming, and the net is closed for bidnez.
My favorite moment watching the Nuggets is the time everyone held a team scoreless for 8 minutes (approx.) in a quarter. You remember that, right? Man, the results that would bring. We know that's not going to happen, but we also know you're capable of doing it.

I'm one of the biggest Denver fan (AI especially) around and I live in NY, u guys started the month out great, I understand that it gets frustrating when you lose back 2 back, especially to teams that should have been easy wins but keep your heads and that goes for all of you. Work on the DEFENSE, DEFENSE and more defense. Check UR free throws too, you and Chuck (AI) have been off lately. Him short, you long off the back of the rim. Team needs more bench support, Marcus is doing all he can, need Linas to be more consistent and Keyon a little more time on the floor. The refs for that Atlanta game SUCKED, my 8 year old could have called that foul on AI from my living room couch. Anyway, til next time, keep your head up. I'm still hoping for my 11 wins this month. Keep the faith. I know I do.

Melo, you had a good game when you played against Charlotte. I was at the game. I was cheering for you loud with my family. We were in the middle of a crowd of Bobcats fans and my Mom and I were loud and did not even care. I had on my Denver Nugget gear and rocked it!! I will pray for Nene. Good luck man!!!

Melo- Wins on the road are tough! You know that, so try not to beat yourself up about those games. You guys will get back in track. As for the questionable calls, you can never rely on refs (I know from being a Suns fan). Best of wishes go out to Nene. Keep up the hard work...one game at a time...and good luck!!

The game vs CHAR was hard to watch, but I stayed tuned. The ATL game was too hard to watch and I just turned it off @ half time. I do watch every game though, but games like that, where sorry a$$ teams look like the S.A Spurs, are just too much to handle.. They really do bug me; kind of bring me down to be honest. We are the 6th man, so we are very passionate about our team.
I noticed alota peeps here did not mention the lack of DEFENSE that continues to haunt us. F**** all the rest, you guys dont play D man... I mean I can go grab the #'s and statistics to back it up but Iv seen it w/ my own two eyes.. I believe D is the key to a great dynasty like team. WE all know we got the parts and everything, we got guys to run gr8 pick n rolls n various other plays that would benefit tremendously yet you guys don't use em that much.................. But regardless of that, you guys play awesome on the break, fasted paced on the O-end, I get it, that's the way Karl wants you to play, but why such a lack of D, NIGHT-IN-NIGHT OUT, sure sometimes there glimpses of D, but for a few quarters. It is usually just the extremely high amount of open lay-ups and wide open shots given up, alot of these tend to be 3's. Cambys blocked shots just aint enough. Ima keep on votin' daily for u and chuck, been putting Kenyon n Camby in there too. GL w/ the rest of the month! Keep that chin up melo, Lets get some m'f*** winz foo! lol

I agree with "faygeo". Those refs weren't exactly watching the game . Iverson got tocuhed all over the place, knocked to the ground, and still found time to score. The refs need to either get younger, or have more of them on the court. Some calls can't be decided by a ref who was out of position that possibly could not have seen the perfect call. What exactly is the requirement to be a ref, because it seems that it is pretty easy to get a job as an official. Sometimes, Chris Marlowe and Scott Hastings, (the guys who announce the game on Altitude) have better insights to the game then the officials do. I wish I was a ref, that way I could make the RIGHT calls. It seems to me that we should have another referee freud again, kind of like Dunleavy, or whoever that one ref was...

several things that needs to be improved.First is the downtown defense and ur team's 3pfg. When I watched ur games, I always found open outside shot 4 the opponents. That really pissed me off!!Besides, I suggest u guys do more teamworks, 'cause assists r still under average for a run-and-gun team. And Nene, pray for him, wish him came back soon.

Last,4 u melo. Hope u can well protect yourself and get well soon from the tweaked back. I tell u a secret, there're lots of Chinese fans watching Nuggets' games here. Though ur games are seldom on TV, we still manage to watch on-line. Good luck to u, good luck to Nuggets~!

I agree with #2... I can tell #2 is an avid Nuggets fan such as myself...

One thing that I have always noticed is that we have no perimeter defense! The Suns, the Lakers, the Celtics all sweep us due to the fact we can't hold defense behind the arch. Camby, Nene, Martin, and Hunter will control the paint at all times. They are all 4 beastly. But I mean, who needs to go in the paint when we can't hold the perimeter? I bet teams rely on that option when it comes down to the wire.

Another thing like #2 stated... You, Camby, and Iverson should have that "trio" connection... Ya digg? Kinda like how Paul, ray, and KG do... They work together and have their own plays... Since you three are the captains, you three should step up and take control of this team... Because honestly, we don't look like Playoff contenders right now... I know it's because of all the injuries on the team, but the NBA isn't going to feel sorry for you guys just because you have 4 players out... They aren't going to boost you up a seed just because you have injuries...

And you guys shouldn't rely on Nene, Hunter, Martin, and Atkins for them to get back.. Yall need to get sh-t done NOW. We may be a team that can beat anyone in a series, but i mean it won't matter if we can't even make it to the playoffs. We went from the third seed in the conference to the 7th.. In a matter of a week. We was behind PHX and San Antonio. Now we are behind plenty... That's not good.

Why don't you guys play like you played the Magic? BALL DISTRIBUTION. PASS.

Another thing that pisses me off is that Anthony Carter is a "pass-only" type of player. That's BS! He shouldn't have to rely on you and Iverson to score the points. I mean hell, you and A.I. both contributed 60+ points against the hawks, and you guys still lost??? Look. Bottom line is more people should step up as scorers because you and A.I. are doing your thing offensively. Defensively? Uhhh... I'll be quiet... Not that I'm hating, but its the guards that are kicking our asses. We can't hold defense outside of the paint.... Any team in this league drops 100+ on us... That's bad..

I can't wait till Hunter gets back, because Marcus is working too hard to LOSE. If he keeps this up, he's gonna run out of energy or injure himself...

I mean, do the math people... You have the two highest scorers in the league, you have the 2nd leading rebounder / #1 shot blocker / top 5 assister for a center... and you still lose?!???!?!

I quite agree with MCabriel's words, except for the last added point.

I still think the best position 4 Chuck(AI) is SG,not PG.Demading him to get +10 assists every nite is difficult .It's not bcoz he can't do it but bcoz he's already put all his energy in scoring and that is what his value lies in.

Yep I know that whenever and whoever in our team has 10+ assists, we will win the game(except Chuck's debut game last season but it should not be counted right?). So this task shall be transferred to AC and we all see he got this capacity.

We can not put all the burden on chuck's shoulder and Melo's so everyone else should share the work.And 1 more, Karl is just not keeping his words. He said that AI's playing time would decrease this season, but it seems that he's still than 48min man.

hello joanna0315, in my defense, I was not demanding him to, I was just challenging him to, there is a difference you know. ;) Anyway the only reason I do that is because it seems as though he is the only one on the team that could do it consistently if he put his mind to it, don't you think?

Now with Melo out, all the attention will be on him so,.. look for his assists to go up again. Let's also hope that Kleiza's stellar play continues in Melo's short absence and that all the Nuggets slowly but surely get back to kick ass.

That's the right attitude...The value of a player that unfortunately has to be put on side of an injury should only make you and the the team work harder, push twice as hard to endure someone valuable to the team. MELO...you should be workin triple time, cause it's about comin in strong and endin even stronger, but you got that!!! You have you good days and your bad days, right now it's aight jus cuase it's the beginning, but that's jus means you betta shake it off, think about what went wrong in your free throw, so when it comes again you can focus on that little tweak cuz the rest comes natural just like your skillz...Use everyday to improve the talent that HE has given to you cause it's all about perfecting yo skillz babes...Go gettem...FAITH...LOVE...HAPPINESS...

But do what your coach tells ya too...the less contention as a group the better we'll play. Play with passion....play like a warrior....It sounds corny, but ..I LOVE BASKETBALL...i love playing....sometimes teams and organizations make you forget what its all about....try to win, definitely...compete.....but play as HARD as you can because you want to perform as best as you can EVERYNIGHT. Play in a way that makes your teammates play harder and with more passion....I remember Earl Boykins....he had energy....He brought to the team an awareness that was awesome...
Everytime i play basketball....I play as best as i can....even when my body is tired....then i try to wake it up...by playing even harder. I watch bball, i practice new things when i play. learning new things is what its all about...getting better and better. Same with life skills.... anyway...I love what you guys are doing.....don't forget life, but play hard for the game and the energy, and the passion, when a teammate blocks it....go nuts.....its SWEET! everyplay you guys complete is awesome....people would never dream of doing the things you do. rejoice in it! its gets us PUMPED....make the big plays.
