Last week i wrote a piece titled, Blazers Miles From Resolving Conflict, which now looks to be a true statement after today's most recent update. I wrote about the Portland Trail Blazers absurd reaction to the Memphis Grizzlies signing of Darius Miles to a 10-day contract extension. Miles needed to only play in one more game with Portland or any other NBA team, for the Blazers to owe him $18 million this year and additional fines to the NBA for going over the luxury tax and ultimately ruining their free agent opportunities in the off-season.After all of the hype last week about the Blazers sending threatening emails to all NBA teams, Miles did not do much over the weekend and still needed only one more game to make the Portland organization really upset. Well, as of only hours ago, the Grizzlies have signed Miles to yet another 10-day contract. After his first debut with Memphis, Miles played in three games overall and averaged 8.3 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. His stats and...

07-08 Pac-10 Predictions Part II

Before I get to the conclusion of my predictions for the Pac-10 football season, let me try and bring up a few points of discussion. As many of you well heard, last week, the Portland Trail Blazers won the NBA Draft lottery. First of all, nobody saw this coming, and secondly.. RIP CITY IS BACK, BABY. Listen up, Kevin Pritchard. Greg Oden is the obvious choice, seeing as though...

Why Don't We Hate These Guys?

Game 9: Mavericks 105, Spurs 92 I'm upset. No in fact, I'm fucking pissed. I know I shouldn't be. It's only November 15 and it's stupid for me to expect us to be running on all cylinders at this point. Hell, what makes us so good in the first place is that we don't blow our load early like some teams. My brain tells me that not only should I have expected...

If Dallas wants Kidd

Why don't they listen to New Jerseys demands and meet them; that's how the Lakers got Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies isn't it? The Nets are looking for expiring contracts, young players and draft picks, so why can't Dallas offer what they want? Dallas should offer a signed Keith Van Horn; that...

Don't Add to the Fan Stereotype

Sports fans (particularly those who carry a passion for their home town sports team) are often looked at as offbeat, colorful, and for lack of a better term, crazy. Generally, there behavior would never be allowed in other venues. And as weird as others might find it, it is rarely questioned and or challenged. I mean where else can a grown man over 40 and painfully out of shape be...
