Found July 28, 2009 on Fox Sports:
The Indiana Pacers have signed free agent guard Earl Watson to a multiyear contract. Terms of the deal were not released Tuesday. The 6-foot-1 veteran was waived earlier this month by Oklahoma City. He also has played with Seattle, Memphis and Denver in eight NBA seasons. Watson adds depth to an Indiana team that has already lost one guard, Jarrett Jack, in free agency and is likely to lose another, Marquis Daniels, this offseason.

I'm really looking forward to this week because so many people have viewed the new website I'm working on, www.texas360now.com, making it an early success. I'm hoping some of you in the yard will head over and check it out. It's a site focused on Texas sports and the athletes from there, including high school kids, college guys, and pros. We'll have more athletes...

Pacers add depth, sign former Thunder guard Watson

The Indiana Pacers have signed free agent guard Earl Watson to a multiyear contract.

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquire Etan Thomas from the T-Wolves

The Thunder have acquired 31-year old center Etan Thomas and two 2nd round picks in the 2010 NBA Draft for 29-year old SG/SF Damien Wilkins and 34-year old PG Chucky Atkins. Thomas played in 26 games (7 starts) for the Wizards last season and he averaged 11.8 minutes, 3.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.2 [...]

Tinsley and Walsh reunion?

With the recent turn of events, it appears the focus will turn to Jamaal Tinsley. Walsh and Tinsley have reportedly met and discussed the possibility of signing him. Tinsley is one of Walsh’s draft picks, which should say enough about his career. I really don’t like Tinsley’s game and have seen it up at close at [...]

Daniels deal hits a snag

The Celtics are trying to bring Marquis Daniels in by working out a sign-and-trade with Indiana.  That's not going so well. The Pacers are reportedly dissatisfied with what the Celtics are offering - with the primary bait said to be guard Tony Allen and possibly Gabe Pruitt. As a result, according to a source close to negotiations, the Celtics and Indiana...

Celtics Working to Acquire Marquis Daniels

The Beantowners and Pacers just need a third team to help them out. What, is Chris Wallace busy?: “Marquis Daniels has agreed to come to the Celtics, and his former team, the Indiana Pacers, have agreed to sweeten the pot for the player by cooperating in a sign-and-trade deal. The only problem is Indiana’s compensation. Two league sources confirmed yesterday the Celtics and...

Two more Wolves brought into the fold, no noise on coaching front

Like Etan Thomas and the pair of future second-round draft picks that the Wolves shipped to Oklahoma City, the players we got in return, Damien Wilkins and Chucky Atkins, are merely pieces to the puzzle that is the Wolves reclamation project.  David Kahn took the same approach to the Wolves that a house-flipper takes to some shabby hovel in the 'burbs, and now he's working to turn...

Pacers' emphasis now on defense

For one offseason, at least, high-scoring offense has taken a back seat to defense. The Indiana Pacers had no choice but to change their roster -- and approach -- because as entertaining as they have been offensively under coach Jim O'Brien, they've been just as disappointing defensively.

Mike Dunleavy working on his return

The Indianapolis Star (Mike Wells) reports: The Indiana Pacers shooting guard isn’t ready to pinpoint a date for his return from right knee surgery, but he has a “gut feeling” that he’ll be back sooner than the January date coach Jim O’Brien targeted last season. “We still have a ways to go and we don’t [...]

How Flip Saunders Almost Became a Terp

(Image from Minnesota media guide.) Why was a Maryland basketball program that already had John Lucas in the fold recruiting a slightly undersized point guard from a small school in Ohio during the early '70s? I'll let Lefty Driesell explain. "He was a heckuva player," the Terps legend said of Flip Saunders, now the Wizards' head coach and then a would-be Maryland...
