ESPN is reporting that the oft-discussed Shaq-to-Cleveland trade has gone down. The Cavs will send Sasha Pavlovic, Ben Wallace, the 46th pick in this year's draft and $500,000 to the Suns for the Big Shaqtus. The deal is now only contingent on league approval, although Shaq hadn't been told of the deal at the time of this post by the Suns, according to his Twitter page. The Cavaliers would be hoping Shaq could do for LeBron James what he did for Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade earli...

this is going to make for an exciting season. just for this story alone the nba is worth watching. will shaq usher another young star into finals history? didn't work out so well with amare. imagine a eastern conference finals with kg, ray ray, PP, shaq and lebron. that's beyond must watch. and a potential finals matchup against kobe, phil and lakers. wow. but, this is still cleveland we're talking about.

LeBron is going to need a legit jump shot with Shaq clogging up the middle. He's not going to have nearly as much freedom with the big fella taking up space and drawing extra defenders in the paint. I doubt that Shaq is going to have the same impact on this Cavs team as he had in LA or Miami. He'd have to come into training camp weighing 290 instead of the 340 that he's been packing the last decade.

haha he doesn't have cable? really?

He's going to sit in the middle and disrupt the flow but it will cause problems considering they'll have to defend the perimeter...and now watch the middle. Thing is Shaq has a problem with playing with other high visibility players note: Hardaway, and Kobe

I don't know how to feel about this. I was all ticked off when the Cavs didn't deal for him earlier and now I'm not sure if Shaq Fu can help.

This is a great trade....for Phoenix. Unloading Shaq's big contract that he did not play up to, got a good shooter in Pavlovic and an extra pick in the draft, sounds good to me. Don't get me wrongf I love Shaq, but he is about two yeras past retirement and this does not help the Cavs out at all, he is past his prime and all the championships he will ever produce has all ready happened, and he will just sit back and collect checks from here on in. Bad move Cleveland.

The showed that he still has something in the tank last season averaging 18ppg and 8rpg so I would disagree with the notion that he can't come into Cleveland with LeBron and Help the Cavaliers he'll be a body to Stop Dwight Howard because Big Z couldn't do it neither could Anderson Varejao or Ben Wallace..Sasha Pavlovic is milk carton material...Ben Wallace is most likely to retire,so Phoenix is probably gonna trade Amar'e Stoudamire cause to be honest it looks like Steve Kerr is in a Rebuilding Mode

Shaq has been called an overpaid role player for the past couple of years. Maybe this will be motivation for him to step it up and play.

as lewii5 pointed out it is "still Cleveland" and the professional sports history there doesn't indicate that it will work out for the best, but it should interesting to see how this unfolds

I was shocked at first, but this could be a good thing. If Shaq stays healthy, he could help LeBron get his 1st championship ring...if their egos don't get in the way!
