20 Second Timeout:
It seems like "everybody knows" that Chicago made a mistake signing Ben Wallace, who is rapidly becoming the poster child/scapegoat for the underachieving Bulls--but "everybody" does not seem to remember the exact circumstances in which that deal was made and the unappetizing alternatives that the Bulls had--unless you think that Nazr Mohammed or Joel Przybilla could have been the answer in the middle for the Bulls.

Now I've heard it all (wish I could say that I saw it...maybe YouTube has it somewhere)...
Here is what Sun-Sentinel columnist and longtime Miami Heat beat writer Ira Winderman wrote about the Heat's recent match up against the Portland Trailblazers:
Portland center Joel Przybilla said he still doesn't know what hit him when O'Neal stumbled into him during Thursday...
Face-full of blame pie
Zero-sum blame game isn't just my experimental jazz-fusion project, it's the idea that because there are many people to blame, nobody deserves to be singled out. I don't believe in that. So, even though Ben Gordon was invisible, Ben Wallace was 'the dead body' (credit to BullHockey for tha...
Perkins is Coming Along
Perkins is all about his defense, and if you consider the entire package, he isn't that bad. Let's just say he's not the worst center in the league, especially if you consider his ability to limit the offensive production of his opponents. Offensively, we've got Perkins ranking 28th amongst starting centers, but defensively he ranks 9th. The good news is Perkins...
Cavaliers get beat down.
Joakim Noah had the game of his young career against the player that once tried to throw him under the bus. Noah finished with 13 points and 20 rebounds against former teammate Ben Wallace. Deng and Gordon also had 20 points+ as the Bulls rolled over the Cavs. LeBron scored 39, but only managed 3 [.....
03/07 Morning Minute: Happy St. Patrick’s Day
Welcome back, Zydrunas Ilgauskas! Yesterday’s Cavaliers game was entirely too close for my liking, but there is no denying that Z’s presence in the post was huge on both ends of the floor. Yes, he had 16 points, nine boards and three blocks, but indirectly enabling Ben Wallace to do ...
Gibson's Contract Great For The Cavs
Danny Ferry takes a lot of heat. Much of it is well-deserved, but he deserves a hand for the contract that he and Daniel Gibson signed yesterday. Details have now been released about the deal- $20.8 million over 5 years. That is a very cap-friendly number. It is less than a mid-level exception, and for a longer period than Andy or Sasha got last year. Gibson is 22, and the 5 year...
On to Game 4
After beginning brightly, the Detroit Pistons have been taken two times over. In Game 1, Ben Wallace came out like a storm, gaining 21 points, 15 rebounds and four steals. Richard Hamilton led in points by putting in 28.Game 2 had a light turnaround at home base. Jeff Foster, who added 14 points from...
Kevin Love vs. Joey Dorsey
This is a match up the pro scouts will be watching extremely closely, as it pits two of the top power forwards in the collegiate ranks. Unfortunately, as Kevin Love moves up the draft board, Joey Dorsey is still considered a second round pick, I don't get it? Now I realize that Joey Dorsey doesn't possess the offensive skills of a polished low post scorer, but doesn't rebounding...
Noah Fills The Skiles Cliché Void
"Blah-blah-blah," said the rookie. I am so relieved. Adrian Griffin and Ben Wallace are in their rocking chairs congratulating themselves for sitting on Noah earlier this ...
How I Fell Out Of Love With NBA Live
When it comes to basketball games, it really boils to just two titles: EA Sports' NBA Live series, and 2K Sports' NBA 2K series.
Back on the PlayStation One, I was a Live guy. Granted, it was essentially the only basketball game around (Sony's ShootOut SUCKED), so it was really no contest. But still, back then it was a very good game. It was the first game to allow...
Peter Gabriel joins Knicks
The New York Knicks hired 1999 NBA Executive of the Year, Peter Gabriel as their new director of pro scouting and free agency. Gabriel was the General Manager for the Orlando Magic from 1996 to 2004. He was responsible for hiring Doc Rivers who won Coach of the Year honors. Gabriel also selected 2000 Rookie of the Year, Mike Miller 5th overall in the draft that year

Daniel Gibson Injury Update
As the Cavaliers were welcoming Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith and Delonte West, they were forced to say goodbye to Daniel Gibson for 4-to-6 weeks. An MRI revealed a severely sprained ankle for Gibson, who was hurt against the Indiana Pacers.
Gibson, who has been a decent fantasy basketball...
How "The Brazilian Blur" came to be...
USA Today's Greg Boeck, in an article dated 5-11-06, talks about Phoenix Suns Brazilian guard Leandrinho Barbosa's penchant for "picking up nicknames" such as "The Brazilian Blur," "Speedy Gonzalez," "The fastest guy on the earth," and the latest one given by his Suns teammate Boris Diaw: "The Roadrunner."
Barbosa has also...
I Wanted Ron Artest and I am Dumb Sometimes
Since last season, I have always suggested that the Cavs would do well to acquire the services of Ron Artest. My thoughts on the subject were that he plays some of the toughest defense in the NBA this side of Bruce Bowen, and he has the ability to score and rebound better than probably anyone else on the Cleveland roster that doesn't have the first name of LeBron. My problem is...
