The Sports Agent Blog:
The NCAA basketball season is quickly coming to a close, and Dynasty is hoping to get into the world of basketball in the upcoming draft. Speaking of Dynasty, I never really got to publicly thank the creator of the Dynasty logo. If you like it and want to talk to him about creating a logo for your business, you can reach Joel Barenbrugge here. Behind the scenes, we are working hard to get Dynasty's name on the 2008 NBA Sports Agent Draft (click here for last year's). Time will tell. Here are some stories that were not covered over the past week:
* The IOC believes that blogging is a "legitimate form of personal expression," and will permit athletes to blog from the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics [Athletes allowed to blog from Beijing, with restrictions].
* Greg Feste, who once had many football clients including Mark Brunell and Tony Boselli, filed for bankruptcy [One-time football entrepreneur files for bankruptcy].
* After hitting over 30 homeruns ...

Late innings
The Fox column is on hiatus until pitchers and catchers head south, yet I've still got baseball on the brain, so let's chase some headlines . . .The Red Sox re-sign Mike Lowell to a three-year, $37.5 million contract: I realize I'm late to the party on this . . . but c'mon, what's not to like? Great ...
Let’s hope they’re right
Take a look at this simulation of the World Series. It has the Rockies winning it all in seven games, and let’s hope they’re right. But look a bit closer at the game 1 prediction: Red Sox 11, Rockies 2. That’s scary accurate, but look even closer at the box score. It has Mike Lowell...
Phillips is pretty good at second base
C. Trent:Cincinnati Reds veteran Brandon Phillips won the 2008 Fielding Bible Award for second base in an announcement made November 1, 2008, in The Bill James Handbook 2009. Top 5 Goggled Athletes
For the past couple nights Kevin Youkilis has donned a sweet pair of goggles to help cover that nasty swollen eye after being hit with a throw from Mike Lowell. That thing looked more damaged than Brett Myers' girlfriend in the middle of the Boston streets. Let's hope Youk can make a full recovery and beat this swollen eye. If not, at least we can check out some really cool...
A Few Sox Saturday Updates
Mikey is back and looks good – Mike Lowell was in the lineup last night against the Yankees, holding down the four spot in between Ortiz and Drew. That is a pretty solid 3-4-5 if you ask me. Mikey had his first fielding opportunity of the spring in the first inning which turned into an inning-ending double play. He then led off in the second inning and took a high fastball...
Name Calling
Forget Manny, I'm sick of Papelbon being Papelbon; Brady being Brady; Matt Ryan being Brady; and I'm already tired of KG being, well, KG circa 1994 and his senior year at Farragut Career Academy. How the hell did this happen? When did Boston become Mecca for US sports? Did Ben Affleck sell his soul? Is this retribution for John Kerry and Michael Dukakis? Tea Party Part Deux...
Phillips signed to long term deal?
Hal McCoy is reporting on his new blog that the Reds and Brandon Phillips have agreed to a long term contract extension. Terms were not available. We'll see... some of the long term deals that have been signed this offseason have been extremely good deals for the teams, but those usually have been...
Phillies free agent rumblings
The Phillies have made it clear that they want to focus on pitching this offseason. They said they've contacted Bartolo Colon and Randy Wolf, but have denied rumors that they're interested in Mike Lowell and Scott Rolen to upgrade third base.
Hip to Play
Mike Lowell and Chase Utley are both recovering well from their hip surgeries. Lowell played Friday night, hit a home run and started a double play in the field. Chase Utley played in a minor league intrasquad game. So far,...
Not So Toothless: Tigers-Sox Gamer III
Mike Lowell sprained his thumb yesterday; fortunately the xray came back negative. Alex Cora felt a twinge in his throwing elbow taking ground ball practice; the team will be keeping an eye on that situation. Uncertain news for the Sox who saw the Tigers win their first game of the...
Friday The Real 13th!
My version of Friday The 13th, A sports week that has been all in all boring!
Not alot going on this week . . . my Boston Celtics are laying low with Rondo and Garnett on the mend. The NCAA tournament is about to begin, so were going through sports rather quickly this week.

Where can I return this Christmas gift?
So last year when the Reds signed Corey Patterson to a 3 million dollar minor league contract you might have been asking what could be worse. Well today I wake up and have the answer.CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Reds President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Walt Jocketty today announced the signing of free agent OF Willy Taveras to a two-year contract through the 2010 ...
Spring Training Boxscores: Fantasy Notes
Jeff Keppinger started at SS for the Reds with Brandon Phillips starting to his left and Edwin Encarnacion to his right. Would the Reds start a more established glove at 1B in Scott Hatteberg if Keppinger saw the bulk of time at SS early in the season? Brandon Inge started at catcher for t...
