Former Sonic Shawn Kemp, 40, has decided to come out of retirement and is the latest NBA player to sign with a European team. American players have started a trend this summer of signing with teams across the Atlantic. The money in Europe is plentiful for average NBA players. Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Childress left his NBA squad in July for a Greek team that will give him $20 million dollars in 3 years.
Some other NBA players that have signed with European teams include Earl Boykins, Carlos Arroyo, and former Gonzaga standout Dan Dickau. High school All-American Brandon Jennings will play in Europe this year to prepare for the NBA after failing to score high enough on his college exams to play for Arizona. Kobe Bryant has even joked to the press about playing overseas for $40 million a year.

Did Cris Collinsworth Question Kobe's Patriotism During An NBC Interview?
I haven't come to a decision on the above question myself, but a few other outlets have. From Ms. Underestimated via News Busters via Juiced Sports comes video of Cris Collinsworth interviewing Kobe Bryant over the weekend. At one point Collisworth asks Kobe if it's "cool" for him to say that he "loves his country" and then throws a wry smile after...
I hope this guy makes something of himself
So Michael Phelps won his 8th gold medal tonight. And he did it in front of Kobe Bryant, who was in the stands. Which means Kobe sat down and watched yet another domination and coronation.
There, I tied a swimming post to the Celtics championship. That's got to be worth a medal, right?
Seriously… Phelps is one of the most ridiculous [...]
Kobe's Jersey Most Popular in China
LeBron James so often talks about his goal of becoming a "global icon." Having a top selling jersey in China — a country of 1.3 billion — would probably be a good starting point. Maybe he's jealous of Kobe Bryant because come to find out, 24 has the top selling jersey in China [...]
Kobe and LBJ are zuperfans
Hey, notice those two basketball stars in the above photo. (Come on, the picture quality isn’t that bad.) If you guessed Kobe Bryant and LeBron James … you are correct, sir! (Or madam.) They were in the stands at the Kerri Walsh-Misty May vs. the Brazilians match last evening. (Or yesterday morning, or however the [...]

Your Olympic Video Du Jour: Lebron And Team USA Dunk All Over Germany
The "Redeem Team" was taking on Germany this morning in a game that didn't really matter in the standings, but that didn't seem to let slow them down in the least. USA seemed to want to make a statement before elimination play gets underway on Wednesday, and that they did with a 105-57 win over Dirk and Germany.Dwight Howard had about fifty dunks during the game...

Everyone knows the Lakers flat-out stole Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies (Kwame Brown, Jarvis Crittendon, 2 first-round picks and the rights to Marc Gasol). But after playing against big, bad Marc Gasol, Kobe Bryant now thinks the Lakers gave up too much:
"In hindsight, we probably didn't have to give him up to get Pau," Bryant [...]

The first quarter of this game was a little closer than people expected. Then Dwyane Wade came in… and made plays like that one. How someone throws a perfect alley-oop while running full speed to track down a ball going out of bounds is beyond me. But he did it… and everything else, too. Between [...]
