I don't know if "solid" is exactly the word that I would choose. Last year he definitely gave the Heat a lift whenever he was healthy enough to play. In four games this year, J WIll's minutes are the highest that they've been since his rookie year--in no small part because Riley does not want to use Smush--but his field goal, three point and free throw shooting are all at career low levels. His assists are up from last year but so are his fouls and turnovers. JWill is obviously the best pg on the team but he's a slightly built player who is about to turn 32 and it is not good if the Heat will have to play him 35 mpg for the whole season; his body can't take that kind of work load without getting hurt.

20 Second Timeout:
Smush Parker, Miami's main offseason free agent acquisition, is now the team's third string point guard, a development that does not surprise anyone who watched the Lakers play last season.

Smush Parker: Playing with Kobe was Overrated, Playing with Shaq was Great
If ever there was an NBA player that embodied the term “knucklehead,” Smush Parker would be it. The guy was pretty much a joke of a player, especially for one who started at point guard in back-to-back seasons for the Lakers a few years ago, getting around 30 minutes per game. He tried [...]
Smush Parker “Playing with the Lakers was Overrated”, Video
Smush Parker “Playing with the Lakers is Overrated”, Video . Will someone please tell Smush Parker to get a reality check. Get back in the league, and then talk a tiny bit of trash, but never at Kobe. He said the problems with the Lakers starts with Kobe and ends with Kobe.
Smush Parker Calls Out Kobe, Not Delusional At All
You have to be suspicious of any interviewer who introduces Smush Parker as “a legend in his own right” - a legend at what, being mediocre? But shockingly that’s not the dodgiest thing said in an interview found by the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER of the former Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat point guard playing [...]
Smush Parker Doesn’t Like Kobe Bryant Very Much
Former Laker and current free agent Smush Parker isn't a very big fan of his former teammate Kobe Bryant. Honestly I probably wouldn't be able to blame him. I imagine that playing with someone whose head is the size of Kobe's would be a pain in the ass.

Smush Parker, Kwame Brown and the Kobe Bryant Effect
Yesterday, the Clippers gained some salary cap room by renouncing their rights to Smush Parker, who has played for six NBA teams since 2002-03.
One of the best testaments to Kobe Bryant's greatness is that he led the Lakers to the playoffs twice despite having Parker as the starting point guard and Kwame Brown as the starting center. Point guard and center are arguably the...

Loser's lament: It's in the DNA
Heat coach Pat Riley talks so often about his "culture" that it becomes easy to tune him out. It is a message that Antoine Walker, James Posey, Gary Payton and Smush Parker had little patience for. Yet there is a...
