The Sonics' old owner Howard Schultz is suing to enforce a "good faith" provision in the contract of sale that transferred the franchise to Oklahoma City businessman Clay Bennett. ECB gives a little legal background and explains why the suit is just for show. Sorry Sonics' fans.

All that's left for the Bennet group is to legally get out of their lease. The NBA is ok with the move because just like Oklahoma City was before today, Seattle will now become the calling card for any team looking for a new stadium...and the circle continues.
Very similar to the LA NFL stadium announcement thegoldseat.com posted about today. Every league needs a bait city...

I think you would agree that tonight's Raptors game against the Bulls is about as pointless as Primoz Brezec's high socks. Instead of digging into that game it is time to get a jump on the first round series between the Toronto Raptors and the Orlando Magic. I am heading to the Big Smoke on Friday so I need to get all of this analysis up before I jet.

The NBA has made tremendous progress this season considering the fact that it was coming off of a lifeless NBA Final and the Tim Donaghy scandal. But following an exciting regular season, the league might be shooting itself in the foot by moving the Sonics from Seattle to Oklahoma City. Make no mistake: Seattle has Cleveland's support.
