Heading into Detroit for the first game in what's thought to be perhaps the most competitive Stanley Cup Finals since the New Jersey Devils took on the Red Wings in 1995, there was a slew of mutual appreciation from both parties. The two teams weren't very familiar with each other, having only played once in the past two years, but they had to respect what the other had done. In the aftermath of the Red Wings 4-0 victory, it's to be sure the Penguins have a much better idea of just why the Wings are to be respected. After the long lay off, the Joe Louis Arena was buzzing for the puck to drop. A surprising number of Penguins fan secured tickets to the series opener, spotting the red crowd with black jerseys here and there. Enough Penguins fans to hear a slight "Ruu" cheer after Jarkko Ruutu laid now a huge shot block early in the game. But not one's to be outdone the Wings faithful rang down thunderous praises of "Ozzie" after early Penguins scoring chances were thwarted. An early Red...

New 1st round NFL Mock Draft.

The NFL Draft is only a couple weeks away. For me its better then Thanksgiving ( well maybe not this year cause the Jets play) and Christmas combined. It's a two day affair where I lie down and do nothing besides wait to see who gets picked next. For some people it's a drug the NFL draft. For others they could really care less. If you could care less then need not read any...

redsarmy

That?s what Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett displayed at halftime of the Orlando loss. ?All I know,? said Boston coach Doc Rivers, who as a rule joins the players in the lockerroom after granting them a five-minute cooling off period at halftime, ?is that when I came in, Rondo and Garnett were both standing in front [...]

Boston Celtics: The Miami Heat used a 16-4 run in the third quarter and then held off the injury depleted Boston Celtics to win 107-99 in Miami. It’s the second straight loss for the Celtics. Where In The World Is Anderson Varejao?

Anderson Varejao looks and plays like a bizarro Joakim Noah to me. That being said, you may have noticed (but probably not, because you have been so focused on LeBron James) that the Cleveland Cavaliers have been without Varejao since the beginning of the 2007-08 NBA season. His absence did not hurt the Cavs much last night as they knocked off the NBA's best team, the Boston...

RUNNING THE SHOW

Three months ago the sports world was focused on New England; The Red Sox coming off a second World Championship since 2003, the Boston Celtics were running roughshod over the NBA and the New England Patriots were approaching the greatest season in NFL history, ahhh wasn't it good to live in the epicenter. Then came the Super Bowl, the Pats coughed up a shot at history, pitchers...

Elias, Eight, and a Concern

Last night, the New Jersey Devils completed a fantastic comeback effort in the second and third periods to tie up the Boston Bruins at 3. Then in overtime, the Devils put the nail in the coffin and defeated the Claude Julien-coached Bruins 4-3 with Patrik Elias' shot beating Tuukka Rask high. The re...

Deron Williams and the Utah Jazz were too much to handle tonight for the Boston Celtics as they lost 110-92 in front of a packed house at the TD BankNorth Garden on Friday night. Kevin Garnett is out injured for 2 to 3 weeks and the Boston Celtics are on the hunt for victories and a replacement player. The good news is they found a victory with Rajon Rondo leading the charge.
