TEAMS: Phoenix Suns

Steve Kerr flew to New York yesterday to meet with Steve Nash and his agent to further contract extension negotiations. The team has made it clear they want Nash to end his career in Phoenix. Steve Nash is still holding out on the Suns to wait and see what they decide to do with their roster in the offseason. What this all boils down to is Nash only wants to play for what he considers a "Championship contending team". If the Suns keep the same team around and do not start trading for younger talent and beginning the rebuilding process Nash wants to be a part of that team. He still feels they can compete as constructed. After what happend last season I think it is safe to say the Phoenix Suns are no longer a championship contending team. If the Suns start the much needed and fan supported rebuilding process we could see Nash out the door by no later then the trade line and possibly even this summer. Not only is he a great experienced addtion to any team he also has an expi...

Nash's Future Dependant on Kerr's Plan

by Brett PollakoffFiled under: Suns, NBA RumorsThe offseason is likely to be a lot like the regular season was for the Phoenix Suns. As you may recall, rumors involving both Amar'e Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal swirled around the club up until the trade deadline. And even after a coaching change that took place right after the All-Star break, the team was in a constant...

T'Wolves Not Interested In Amare For Jefferson Swap

Al's two years younger, has two perfectly attached retinas, and has never had microfracture surgery, thus making the Suns the first team to be utterly disappointed upon hearing the phrase "Sorry, Mr. McHale doesn't work here anymore." - HB

Jefferson-for-Stoudemire, your dumb rumor of the day

Earlier today, the Boston Globe reported that the Suns and T-Wolves were working on a trade that would send Al Jefferson and the #6 pick to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire. Hours later, that rumor was shot down. An NBA source said today that Minnesota forward-center Al Jefferson is not being traded to the Suns with the sixth [...]

Brandon Jennings Stock Falling

Today we’ve learned POTENTIAL early lotto draftee Brandon Jennings has scheduled  a workout with the Phoenix Suns, via the Arizona Republic. Yes, those same Suns that pick 14th in the 2009 NBA Draft. Wasn’t Brandon just saying the other day how Ricky Rubio was nothing but hype - was overrated - and he showed him up [...]

Suns and Wolves Swapping Bigs?

by Ryne Nelson In case you were wondering, the answer is “no.” Al Jefferson will not be going anywhere but rehab and conditioning sessions this offseason. So there, we’ve started this post at the end. Now we can go back to where this mess began… for posterity’s sake. Marc Spears of the Boston Globe reported on his blog late Wednesday that an unnamed...

The Amare rumor

David Kahn just called Al Jefferson this morning and assured him the Wolves are not trading him and the sixth pick to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire. Trade Rumors With No Merit: Amar'e Stoudemire for Al Jefferson and the #6

Given my affinity for Big Al, I figured I'd talk about the rumor being tossed out that the Timberwolves were going to be jettisoning him and the #6 pick for Amar'e Stoudemire. Simply put it makes no sense. Before we discuss, let me just display their 08-09 stats.First off let's just put it out their simply, Big Al had better stats than Stoudemire did. Now you can qualify...

TGI(YT)F - I sometimes forget..

Thank God it’s YouTube Friday! I sometimes forget what a bad mamma jamma Grant Hill was while here.  I guess it’s because for better or worse he’s the player I most associate with the ‘Horse Power’ era of Pistons Basketball.  Well, let this mix serve as a reminder to all of us. (pssst @ 1:47 [...]

Catching up with the Phoenix Suns rumors this off season and who should be kept around for next year

There have been many rumors surrounding the Phoenix Suns since they missed the playoffs this season. Some of these rumored trades would actually help the team, but some of the options are only opportunities to cut payroll for the oncoming season and further destroy the team. Some of the biggest names involved in these rumors for the team have been Amare Stoudemire, Shaquille O&rsquo...

The One Where Tim Legler Fields A Wacky Drinking Team

We get a massive amount of tips in our inbox each week. Some are pretty interesting, but don't get published for one reason or another It's usually because they're just so absurd or really lack even the most tenuous of news angles to give them the go-ahead. Other times it's because they're just absolute horseshit. But every Friday until we get sick of running...

A big thing that won't happen this summer

A really big thing, actually. Shaquille O'Neal is not coming to Dallas, unless it's to live out his post-NBA retirement years. You've no doubt heard and read things about his interest in joining the Mavericks. I confess I have no idea about the validity of those thoughts. But after chatting up some insiders, what I can tell you is that O'Neal is not an over-the...
