Here, in no particular order, are ten of my favourite NBA namechecks in music history. This is by no means a complete list, so if you've got a favourite I didn't mention, post it in the comments section.
I based my selections on the following criteria:
1) Quality of song
2) Quality of lyric
and
3) Obscurity of player reference (obviously there are some exceptions as you'll see)
