With the draft fast approaching, many fans are wondering what caliber player they can pick up at their slot. Well, I've compiled a list of 1-30, of the best, and worst picks since 2000. 1. Best: LeBron James Worst: Kwame Brown Kwame Brown is a case-study in dealing with players with fragile mental states. He looked dominant in every pre-draft event I saw, and I didn't disagree with taking him #1. Then Michael Jordan and Doug Collins forced him into the fetal position for several...

  • You must be a big Sixers fan; because you didn't mention any of the Sixers' horendous picks. Starting with all the srubs they were picking when Barkley was asking to be surrounded by Championship players. And let's not forget Shawn Bradley; who is still probably getting dunked on while we speak.

Bradley is probably the worst second pick in history... Darko is still young... and he didn' tplay ba dlast year... 7 pts 6 reb... in 24 mins a game last year... He is also 22 years old.. No bradley average 4 rebs and 6 pts... and was 7'6!!! So I do not think Darko should be there..

Yeah, I disagree strongly with the Darko selection as the worst. He didn't cost Detroit any championships because if they would've picked Melo, they probably wouldn't have traded for Rasheed that year and I don't see the Pistons winning it all with Melo in place of Sheed. Also, that would've took a lot of playing time away from Tayshaun Prince.
  • It seems that your best and worst picks in NBA history go "all the way back" to Richard Jefferson and Hedo Turkolu. Try these two on for size: Red Auerbach picking Bird in the first round in '78 and waiting a year to be able to get him on the court and the Spurs taking David Robinson and waiting two years for him. Please get a little historical perspective.

It's since the year 2000, as told to us in the opening paragraph

I deffinitly don't agree with darko!!He is 22 and still has plenty of youth a head of him... PLus he was really never given a chance... He wen't to detroit and they benched him..Larry Brown has a habit of sitting rookies... So carmelo would of probably had the same treatment in detroit...Then I think he wen't to orlando... orlando behind dwight howard... for his career he averages 17mins... The guy has never really had a chance,,, He might finaly get one in memphis though.

I tend to think that Sam Bowie at the #2 spot above Michael Jordan at #3 was worse than the Darko fiasco.
  • great list, a fun read as I remember all these players being drafted... Ignore the ones who STILL don't realize this is since 2000...

As a Raptors fan, the Rafael Arujo pick still breaks my heart. This guy shouldn't have even been picked in the top 20. They could have chose Andre Iggy, or even Josh Smith. With one of those 2 in the lineup they'd easily be a dramatically better team. Rob Babcock set them back a few years with that pick, not to mention trading Vince Carter for a whole lot of nothing.
