TEAMS: Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers
Anyone who has been around me for more than a minute or two knows that I am a big Kendrick Perkins fan. Perk has been my favorite player since his first year with the Celtics. I love his work ethic. I love his attitude and I love the fact that he very willingly plays a role that most players would shy away from. He is our defensive stopper in the paint and he is our enforcer.
In Perk's first year, he played very little, averaging only 3 minutes per game and racking up 72 DNP's. In spite of this, he worked very hard that year to remake his body and build his conditioning. His second year wasn't much better. He averaged 9 minutes per game in 60 games. But he continued to work on his body and conditioning and when he got a chance to play, he showed a lot of promise. In his third season in the league, he still was given very little playing time and had several DNP's until the Mark Blount trade midway through the season. He finally was given more minutes and averaged 1...

Kevin Garnett Hits on Michelle Tafoya
I've already made it pretty clear what I think (or don't think) of sideline reporters. It's not necessarily them that I don't like, it's just that I don't like their role. The don't serve a purpose. Why did we need Tafoya interrupting a moment where Kevin Garnett should be celebrating with his [...]
The Scalabrine Watch Postseason Version
I think that image pretty much sums up Scalabrine's contribution to the NBA playoffs. Stepping off the bench and onto the court a whopping zero times and only wearing a uniform when Kendrick Perkins was deactivated for the game. Yep, Scals made 3 mill this year gets an NBA title ring, and didn't have to do anything in the postseason to garner either. And he even got the...
Kevin Garnett Claims He's Certified; Four Out of Five Sports Psychologists Say He's Certifiable
When you see KG all fired up like he just found out there was a run on the bank holding all his millions, you've got to be impressed. Particularly when you realize his histrionics are the complete antithesis of all the fake, manufactured crap they use to make Kobe seem like a real human being – as opposed to what he really is: a carefully packaged product test-marketed to...
Thoughts Going Into Game 6
I really wanted the Celtics to close this series out in game 5. I know the fans in Boston are happy to be able to watch them win it on their court, but there are so many factors affecting this team now that may affect the series. Just because a team has never come back from a 3-1 deficit doesn't mean that one never will. I am sure the Celtics don't want to be the only team...
The Mark Blount mystery
It’s a telling sign about what Pat Riley thinks of veteran center Mark Blount when Riley plays third-year center Earl Barron while leaving Blount on the bench. How the Riley-Blount relationship sunk so low so fast is unknown. Riley, who...

Banner 17, June 17, with your MVP of the winning squad, Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics! This victory couldn't get any sweeter as the Boston Celtics proved all nay sayers wrong, even the so-called NBA "experts" who really screwed the pooch with their series predictions.

Good News On Perk, Allen
The Globe just reported that Celtics center Kendrick Perkins, who missed Game 4 of the NBA Finals with a strained left shoulder, said following the team's shootaround today that he planned to play tonight in Game 6 at TD Banknorth Garden. The team also expects to have guard Ray Allen."If feels good," said Perkins. I'm going to give it a shot tonight and see how...
It's a Wraaaaaaaaaap - SEVENTEEN
That just happened. I'm in a complete fog, it could either be the fact that I was up until one-thirty and woke up at six or the fact that the Boston Celtics just completed the single greatest turn around, from one year to the next, in professional sports history.
Did I want a double-overtime thriller? F*CK NO. The Celtics did what they needed to do. Send the Lakers back to...
NBA: Predictions For Lakers-Celtics Game Six Tonight
We all know Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant are playing it cool in front of the press about being down in the series and having to go back to Boston to win two games. That's fine and dandy, but will this laid back spirit translate into some wins?
Of course if Boston...
