TEAMS: Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors
There was the "weird science" from Nellie. There was the mysterious absence of bearditude down the stretch. There was Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni's steadfast refusal to show any quarter, riding Nasty Nash and the starters for extended minutes. And in the end, there was the eighth defeat in nine tries for the Dubs in the Valley of the Sun. The crucial difference being that this one ended their quest for the eighth seed and a playoff birth.

Warriors Out! Let the Mourning Begin...
Some of us woke up to the news (East Coasters), and some of us went to bed knowing that the Warriors were officially out of the playoffs. My mind can't help but go back to a few games that the Warriors should have won, but didn't. Wasted opportunities - squandered chances to win? Absolutely. The Warriors definitely had a few occassions where they truly needed to take care of business...
The Warriors Catch A Break With Melo's DUI, Then Lose
We were this close. Guess there's always next year.
The Warriors Make History....in a very bad way
Last night the Warriors officially became the team with the most wins to ever not make the playoffs under the current system.
They will likely finish out the season with 49 wins. Last year it was a big deal that they were above .500
The season is all but over and I am devestated.
So to make me feel better I will recount some of my favorite memories from the season...
The newest Suns song on the block: SUNS SONG
Last year we had MIMS Remix: The Phoenix Suns Are Hot…
This year we have a new Suns Song….and its not half bad either. The chorus is kind of catchy…now its not going to give MIMS a run for the money, but this is a well produced song.
Check it out:
Where "37 Wins are Better Than 48″ Happens
Monday night made it official: the Golden State Warriors are not getting an invitation to the NBA Playoffs. The fact that this year's Warriors team was a LOT better than last year's crew is what makes this even more disheartening. But not as much as the fact that a bunch of goofs in Atlanta that go by the name "Hawks" are going to go at least 5 games below .500 and keep their summer plans on ice.
Golden State of the Union
A look at the present and the future of the Warriors. There are more problems than you think, and they have a long road to get back to the playoffs.
Suns Point Guard Present & Past In New Ad
You've seen Shaq/Kobe (Would that make it Koaq? or Shaobe? Not sure but whatever it was the combination was creepy) now it's time for Nash/Kidd.
That's right it's a combination of Suns point guard present and past all for the fun of promoting the playoffs. "The 2008 NBA Playoffs where crazy if they mated head combinations happen".
I hope Kidd and Nash don't have the same...

Lakers 106, Spurs 85: Kobe's Supporting Cast Gets It Done
"However, note that Bryant is not solely responsible for the Lakers' soaring in the standings. Yes, he makes teammates better, but they deserve a lot of credit, too, for improving (Andrew Bynum, a prime example) on their own, and the incoming player (Pau Gasol) made Kobe better.
Furthermore, if Bryant wasn't setting up perimeter shooters and drivers for dunks, Lamar Odom...
Day 168 of 170: Isiah Thomas Wants a Parade
Line of the Night/Waiver Wire Line of the Night/Waiver Wire Line of the Year: Ramon Sessions (7.0) had a franchise record 24 assists for the Bucks (in a crazy game they lost to the Bulls 151-135). Sessions also added 20 points, making him the first Buck to throw down a 20 point-20 assist game, ever.
NBA: The All-Athletic Team
The other day I decided to start browsing through YouTube looking for some basketball videos.
That's when I saw it, a video of Jason Richardson's best dunks throughout his career. As I watched, I realized how easy he made everything look, like he was dunking on a Fisher Price basket. Tons of impressive windmills and off the backboard slams, weren't enough.

WTF happened to Boom?
"I gave Baron (Davis) a much needed rest in the second half. I gave him a half off. I thought the guys that played the second half played well. They got a nice lead for us and I thought they deserved a chance to keep it and win the game. It didn't happen that way, but it was my decision."
Still...a strange decision and a strange ending.
Better luck next year Warrior fans. Keep believing!
