Top Ten Current NBA Players
Those who just missed the cut: Dwight Howard, Allen Iverson, Joe Johson, Josh Smith, Andre Iguodala, Deron Williams, Vince Carter, Tyson Chandler, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Chris Bosh, Pau Gasol, Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Michael Redd, Baron Davis, Elton Brand, Carlos Boozer, Shawn Marion and Ron Artest. Most of those people you can definately make a case for top ten. Dwight Howard., Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, and Chris Bosh were so hard to keep out. I understand why some people want some of these players in here. You could make a case being a Celtics fan for either Allen or Pierce and winning the title but in my opinion they do not make the cut till around 15. Iverson, Howard, and Nash were dangerously close to going in my top ten. Dwight was the closest but it is hard to fit everyone in. Dirk was not an original and I did not want him in there but I felt since he won MVP two years ago it would be wrong to leave him out of the bunch. When you see all of the great players in the league it is hard to just pick ten or even 20 but you gotta love the future going forward with the NBA. Most of the top ten are still so young and I am sure there will be another player real shortely breaking out as a dominant force. For now this is what mine looks like. Who knows what the future holds, this is a great league with great talent. A star is born every day and who knows who it will be, it could be anybody.

    Kobe Bryant

Ok lets not joke, Kobe is number one sure I am a Lakers fan but the man can just play. Imagine how good he was winning MVP on a torn finger and various injuries. Carrying a team without a true center. Gasol is not a Center he is a power forward.

  • 2
    LeBron James

This kid will eventually over take Kobe once he has his shooting down. You can not help but love his triple double ability and how strong he is. A great player and competitor undebatable whether he is in the top two.

  • 3
    Dwayne Wade

Now im sure I will get alot of criticism for this one. I have guarded Garnett as the number two player up until this year and then LeBron came up and you know what we are gonna see Wade surpass him this year in my rankings. Do you see how he is playing in the Olympics? Spectacular and better than ever expect him to dazzle all this year.

  • 4
    Kevin Garnett

You can make cases for him being higher or lower but let's face it nobody does it better. We all no about his defense and his skills for someone that size is outstanding. He can shoot, dribble, pass, drive and run people over.

  • 5
    Chris Paul

Ok I get how great this kid is. Most people im sure have this kid higher but I am not convinced. Even Jamall Mashburn had one year when he was a great competitor for the MVP, and he certaintly not a top ten NBA player. I expect this young man to move up as well though. He has quickness, speed, dribbling, passing, shooting, driving, and seems like he always knows what will happen next.

  • 6
    Gilbert Arenas

Gil, Agent Zero. Love this guy he is still very young and one of the flashiest guys in the league. Habachi to him, he is great in every way. He is clutch, shoots the lights out, dribbles, passes well, and can score almost at will. Now I can see this guy being higher or lower depending on how big a fan you are of this guy. Am I confident with this pick at 6, no. This year he is gonna be back to Agent Zero and my way gonna average and win more than last year.

  • 7
    Amare Stoudamire

I want to put him higher I just can't. There is no room. This kid is great in every sense of the word. You might think Dwight Howard is better than him but check out his stats. Through the second half of last year all i saw was 35 point efforts. He is the next KG. He blocks, dribbles, shoots, can dish occasionally and has incredible scoring abiltiy and athleticism.

  • 8
    Tim Duncan

I think Amare has surpassed him he is getting old. Originally I did not have him in my top ten but I felt it would be wrong to leave him out. He is a great player I think that it is a lie when people say he is the greatest power forward ever that is definately not right. But he is up there. Tim Duncan is a great in every sense of the word and a winner but I see Superman surpassing him sometime this year, that would be Dwight Howard.

  • 9
    Tracy Mcgrady

Well down to the final two. What more can i say its T-Mac. You can definately make a case for him being lower not sure about much higher. If you watch him when he is on it is just poetry in motion. Everything he does is so graceful and brilliant.

  • 10
    Dirk Nowitski

I know people want him higher some people want other people to break the top ten. You know what he is great and is the best Seven Foot Shooter of all time. But let's face it he does lack some defensive skills and scoring ability. He dribbles great and plays like a small forward. But that is the problem. He is too big for that, we need him to show some strength and get big. He defends like a guard but that aint gonna work on Shaq or Tim Duncan or hell even Andrew Bynum. Show some big in you and play some D with toughness.

  • I was following after kobe, bron and wade. After that you lost me. KG is not #4, Chris Paul is. and Gilbert Arenas don't belong nowhere near the top best players in the league. I'd take him out and add Deron Williams
    • me31blog
Adding deron williams is not a bad idea but You need to give gil more credit.
  • Also Tracy McGrady is not even the best player on his own team.
    • me31blog
I new this would come up i thought of that when i was making up the list.
  • brickbreezy

    • me31blog

I don't know, pretty sure I'd take Amare over Arenas...

I have nothing against Gilbert, but ranking him over Stoudemire and Duncan? I don't know.
    • me31blog
Well thats why i said anybody through 6-10 can be ranked in anyway and some players like dwight which should have been in on my part i messed that up.
  • bleedgreen7591
Dwayne Wade needs to be lower since it seems he can get healthy..

Please dont put Gilbert Arenas in any top player discussions. He's overrated, he's a career 42% shooter, can't defend, doesnt have great court vision. Heck he's not even the best player on his own team, Caron Butler is way more all around. GET REAL!!!!
    • me31blog
Manu I dont know about that.

Gilbert Arenas is definetly a top 10 blogger. Shouldn't be anywhere near a top 10 list that doesn't include Dwight Howard. I would also put Steve Nash in place of Dirk.
Hard to leave AI off - even though he had a rough year.

some of theses guy are excellent point makers but lack so much on the defensive end that i would not consider them......gilbert Arenas and dirk for example
    • me31blog
Good point. Valid Point. Dirk should have been out and i even said his defense is awful but I like Gil I think he is a good player.

Kid just go home you front running celtics fan
    • me31blog
Kendrick Perkins hahaha even celtics fans must hate paul pierce lol Beat LA what a loser.
    • You joke right?!? After all Kobe has done this past year - make an average team outstanding, enable Team USA to bring home the gold. Surely you gest with AI and Rondo above him Now go ahead and repent of such an error and we welcome you back into reality.
  • abaoaa
Anytime you put Rondo in your top 10, you get a thumbs-up from me
  • me31blog
Guys This is what I think And for that guy who said tashuan prince just go home haha I told you i would get criticism for some players and i said paul could be up but KG is an all around force and very hard to stop and so is paul but it is just my opinion im not convinced with just one year. I had howard in six before i took him out at the very end i got a little messed up at the end when i was making it but i appreciate the comments. Howard is great and i expect him to move up this year as well as maybe another player such as Josh Smith i can not wait to see what this young man will do this year.

Let's face it i had to put garnett up in the top 5, he is great and won a championship. That counts to me.

I am surprised know one criticized Wade but he is having such a great olympics that he has moved back up to the top.

Gilbert is amazing and if you watch him a full game when he is playing to his regualar abilities then you would see what i mean.

Once again my opinion and any of those guys who just missed the cut could have been in other peoples top ten. Like I said thanx for the comments even though I knew id get criticism. I watch so much sports and research and do everything and from all my sources and looking up this is what I like from 6 down it is not neccesarily in order. The Top 5 is in order from my point of view.
  • 1.KG I'm a sixers fan, I hate the Celtics.

    3.Lebron

    9.Gilbert Arenas
    10.Amare Stoudamire.

I like that lineup but we all know LeBron and Kobe are top 2 if you put KG in 3 I can not disagree that much.
  • After the first two games, Wade will be second if everyone wasn't so biased about their favorite player. When healthy he is always in the top five in pts, steals, assists, and he is number 1 ambong guards in blocks. and is always has the best performance in every game he plays in... Look back at every year he was an All-Star when healthy. Look at his previous meeting vs Kobe and James. He always gets the best of those two... He was team USA's leading score and he didn't take as many shots as James or Kobe, and he had a much better percentage. And on top of that, he didnt' even play as many minutes as those two? And you can see that he and Kobe have more of a respect for each other. They know that they both were needed to win that last game. James never shows up on the big stage. He had one great Eastern Conference game against Detroit. Wade has had at least 15 of them throughout his career. Wade has a Finals MVP. Wade beat Paul, Nash and LeBron in the Skills Challenge. Wade had the play of the game in just about every Olympic game. Wade has at least one ring. Wade averaged 39, 8 and 8 in a finals series. Wade made clutch shots. 6'4 Wade has dunked on Duncan, Garnett, Rasheed, Ben Wallace and Jermaine O'neil, an didn't recieve nearly as many props as 6'8 James dunk on Garnett and Duncan. and Wade Dunked on those guys while they were in the air. Here are a list of things Wade does better than Lebron James. Wade gets to the basket, Wade is a better shooter. Wade is a better teammate, Wade avg more blocks than LeBron, Wade will more than likely dunk on a big man than LeBron is. If a big man jumps with LeBron he retreats to a guardish layup. Wade has a runningback mentality. I bet if Kobe was asked to chose between the two today for their accomplishments, and was to choose one for his teammate, he would choose WADE... Hands down.
I think that LeBron is always being ranked on his potential and not for what he has accomplished.
  • Wades overrated, he won the finals by acting. get off his nuts cause he isnt that great. Gil is overrated, injury prone, and chokes in the playoffs. A lot of players could drop 30 a game when healthy if they took 45 shots a game. And as for Chris Paul having one good year, you realize he's been filthy since he got in the league? He won ROY, has averaged 18 and more than 9 assists per game since joining the league and is only a 3 year player. He should've won MVP this year in my opinion, as he led an ulitmately weak team to a division title and deep into the playoffs. He made the all-star team in only his third year and had the West won he would've won MVP due to a 16 and 14 performance. You say he had one good season, no he had two good seasons and one amazing MVP season. Check your information before you speak.
    • me31blog
Jesus Christ Kid. I mean one amazing season buddy. You know how many amazings seasons kobe has had. Yea thats what im talking about. And your wrong Kobe has deserved the MVP for 3 years now and this year he got to the west finals. Yea a team that was still leading the west without Gasol. He took the young players and made them better. Stop staying on chris paul get your head out of your ass and realize that this was my opinion. You must not have been watching the olympics Wade is amazing. I am a person who follows watches and reads about sports everyday so I do have my facts straight and stop that crush you have over chris paul. Get off the computer and go cry that Paul didnt win the MVP.
  • this is what i think the top 10 should be without any favouritisms
LeBron James is definitely way more versatile than Kobe Bryant.
    1.LeBron James
    2.Kobe Bryant
    3.Chris Paul
    4.Dwayne Wade
    5.Allen Iverson
    6.Tim Duncan
    7.Kevin Garnett
    8.Gilbert Arenas
    9.Amari Stoudemire
    10.Dwight Howard
    • me31blog
I like that actually alot. Kobe is the best in the league no doubt about it, but I have no doubt that LeBron will pass him within three years or so. LeBron is more versatile however. He does not shoot as well free throws or threes or mid range. Another reason why is he is not nearly the defensive pest Kobe is. His dribbling skills are not polished to Kobe's yet. As far as passing they are about equal. Rebounding LeBron has Kobe beat but Kobe can rebound if he needs to and can grab 8 boards a game if he wanted to. Like I said I have no doubts that LeBron will get there and I really do like your top ten I messed up on a couple of things. Dirk shoudn't have been. Gilbert should have been farther down. T-Mac shouldn't have been in. Dwight should have. Iverson should have been in. I fucked this list up bad 6-10, but there could have been so many different variations.
  • When Wade is healthy he is at worst the second best in the league today.
