Whoah, nellie. The basketball teams is popping up on a number of early top 25 lists, which seems justifiable with only walk-ons and noncontributors on the way out and someone, anyone taller than 6'4" on the way in. I'd slot them just outside, but I can see sticking them in towards the end. Or, if you're Andy Katz, the beginning:
11. Michigan: John Beilein has made the Wolverines relevant again. He got the Wolverines to the NCAA tournament and won a game. Expect even more from Michigan with a true Michigan State-Michigan rivalry in hoops. These should be the two top teams in the league. Manny Harris and DeShawn Sims might flirt with the NBA draft, but both are unlikely to stay in it. If they return with sharp-shooting guard Stu Douglass and quickly developing players Zack Novak and Laval Lucas-Perry, the Wolverines will be a good watch.
!?!?! Uh… Purdue? Illinois? Pending NBA departures, no Big Ten team that picked up a bid loses more than a couple spare par...

Greg Paulus Offered Scholarship
According to ESPN television, just saw this on SportsCenter...Rich Rodriguez has offered a scholarship to Greg Paulus. He is also considering Syracuse (probably because the coaches are such great husbands)...and he's also weighing his pro football options.
Much more on this as soon as we figure out whats going on.
Greg Paulus, Four Years Too Late
Judging by the relative volume of email I've gotten on this, the entire universe read this FoxSports story and went "wha?"
The Green Bay Packers aren't the only ones who are interested in Greg Paulus.
According to sources close to the situation, the former Duke point guard was in Ann Arbor on Tuesday meeting with Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez about the...
Greg Paulus Might Play Football At Michigan Next Season?
This is really getting interesting. A day after news broke that Greg Paulus had worked out for the Green Bay Packers, the former Duke point guard apparently was in Ann Arbor on Tuesday to meet with Michigan head football coach Rich Rodriguez. Although Paulus played four years at Duke, he has one year of eligibility remaining for football under NCAA rules. He would also not have to...
Interview: Vince Helmuth
His jersey number is about the only thing that didn’t change for Vince Helmuth last season. The arrival of Rich Rodriguez’s spread offense in 2008 brought with it a diminished role for his brand of fullback, the position Helmuth was recruited to play for then coach Lloyd Carr. He did not see the field in [...]
Greg Paulus Football Tour Back to College: Michigan
I applaud the kid for exploring his options.
A day after reporting that Greg Paulus had tried out with Green Bay Packers, Paulus spoke with Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez about playing for the Wolverines next season. NCAA rules would allow Paulus to play a 5th year in another sport without sitting out.
You can read the response from Michigan fan on the Rivals Boards here...
Paulus A Wolverine?
Since he'll graduate in four years, Greg Paulus gets a fifth year of NCAA eligibility in a different sport, and apparently he's considering taking it at Michigan, as a quarterback. Rich Rodriguez runs a pass-happy offense that was pretty sad last year, so we could see the attraction on both ...
Michigan Done Considering Greg Paulus
GoBlueWolverine is reporting that Michigan is no longer going after Greg Paulus. Based on the reaction of a few members of the team, this is probably for the best, but man, why did this have to go on at all? Michigan and Rich Rodriguez got bashed in the media, mainly on ESPN, and the program in general got more bad PR. I wish we could go back to Monday and have none of this happen.
USA Today Coaches Poll Includes ... Michigan?
The USA Today Coaches Top 25 is out and the top five are no surprise: Georgia is No. 1, followed by USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Florida. LSU is No. 6, which is a stretch for team with a major question mark at quarterback but here's where things take a turn for the preposterous ...

Paulus offered by Rodriguez; Dan Patrick audio
First, there's word that ESPN is reporting that Rodriguez has offered a scholarship to Duke's Greg Paulus. [HT: Varsity Blue]
Next, after a morning press conference Paulus jumped on Dan Patrick's radio show to talk about his plans. nbsp; Here's the audio, endure the ad at the beginning:
Here's the summary thanks to danpatrick.com:

Rodriguez offers Paulus
Per ESPN’s SportsCenter, Rich Rodriguez has indeed decided to continue the saga of Greg Paulus by offering him a scholarship to play quarterback for the Wolverines.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - for Michigan, this is probably little other than a depth move. For Paulus, it’s a chance to get back into [...]
Greg Paulus Turns Down David Cutcliffe's Offer To Play For Dukies ... Is He Michigan-Bound?
Following reports that Duke point guard Greg Paulus had a private workout with the Green Bay Packers, Blue Devils football coach David Cutcliffe has extended an offer for Paulus to try out for his team -- as a wide receiver.Paulus, who was offered a football scholarship by Notre Dame and Miami was named Gatorade player of the year, at quarterback but Cutcliffe says Paulus could try...
Tuesday Quick Hits: Harris Named MVP, Opts to Share Award with Sims
The basketball team held its awards banquet last night, and Manny Harris was named the MVP. In a surprising move, though, he asked to share the award with DeShawn Sims, making the two players co-MVPs. It was certainly a great gesture and shows how close the two native Detroiters are. For a full list of awards, click here.Harris and Sims will probably return to Michigan next season...

MICHIGAN'S NEXT QB: GREG PAULUS???
This feels like our April Fools' joke, but we assure you it is not: Greg Paulus could be Michigan's starting quarterback this fall (FoxSports.com).OK, it's definitely time for the Nic Cage Triplets Face:So he's had more balls in his face over the last 4 years than Kobe Tai (as evidenced here, here, here and here). And yes, we're already on the Tate Forcier bandwagon...
“Drop It Like It’s Hot” - Wrigley’s Suspends Chris Brown Ad Campaign
As a result of the “Pre-Grammy Bash,†Wrigley’s has decided to supsend it’s current ad campaign starring young Chris. It’s ironic considering that the ad campaign just ran last night during the Grammys *snickers*.
“Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We ...
