Funny and/or unsportsmanlike moment from Sunday's Rockets-Lakers game, depending which laundry you cheer for: Trevor Ariza(notes) loses his red ruby sneaker during an early defensive possession. Ron Artest(notes), always looking to capitalize on others' wardrobe malfunctions, picks up the shoe, tosses it out-of-bounds, and then proceeds to hit a wide open three while Ariza, his defender, is left tying his shoe in bewilderment.Ariza's reaction at the 42-second mark is classic — "Are you freakin' kidding me, Ron? My shoe? Dude."Cheers, NBA FanHouse.

Ron Artest is the new Yogi Berra

Yogi Berra is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in baseball history. In fact, according to the win shares formula developed by geek Bill James, Berra is the greatest catcher of all time. He won three league MVP awards and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.Unfortunately, or, well, fortunately, Berra's linguistic ability was not quite on the same...

It's Too Bad The Title 'Psycho' Was Already Taken

So, Ron Artest is making a movie about his life. That's...um, interesting. In an interview with FanHouse on Friday, Artest announced he is making a straight-to-DVD movie entitled Therapy, which I assume chronicles his rise from poor kid growing up in the projects of Queens to batshit crazy NBA player. Surprisingly, the "Malice in the Palace" will have its five-year...

Trevor Ariza for Ron Artest straight up.  Essiently those two free-agents swapped teams in the Summer with many thinking the Lakers had gotten the better deal, another piece to an already championship team. Ron Artest, "Blind"

I think this is law school talking, but my first question upon watching this: how does team management feel about Ron Ron wearing Lakers gear in these videos?

Music video mayhem: Ron Artest, 'Blind'

In today's NBA arenas, each basket and defensive stop conjures some sort of aural celebration. And while I don't want to tell in-arena PAs how to do their job, if they don't blast a sound bite from Ron Artest's new song "Blind" after each and every badly clanked Artest three, well, they deserve to be fired ... and then forced to watch this music video on repeat.

Don’t Know If I’ve Ever Seen That Before

First Ron Artest throws Trevor Ariza’s shoe off the court as the Rockets (Luis Scola) run down on offense and then Ron promptly knocks down a triple after the Lakers gain possession back.  Ariza’s immediate reaction to having his sneaker thrown away is like, “come oooon, what are you ten years old Ron? Trevor, and you probably know this anyways, but you got off [...]

Ron Artest Can Be a Little Unorthodox On Defense

Nightmare loss for the Lakers last night, as the Rockets took down Kobe & Co. @ Staples thanks to the offense of Aaron Brooks, Chase Buddinger and David Anderson and former Laker Trevor Ariza locking down a injury-plagued Bryant like no one has in recent memory. Larry Brown’s Biggest Coaching Challenge; Bobcats Trade For Warriors Jackson!

New York Vinnie is not in a very good mood as I sit down to write this article because for the second year in a row the bad guys won again in the NBA. Last season the Sacramento Kings caved in and traded Ron Artest to the Houston Rockets because he was becoming such a [...]

Line of the Night (11/15): Aaron Brooks

Easily the most surprising score from yesterday’s action is the Rockets’ 101-91 win over the Lakers in Los Angeles. Brooks scored a career-high 33 points (including five three-pointers), while also grabbing six rebounds and dropping four dimes. He said that he was inspired by seeing an NBA championship ring for the first time. (Trevor Ariza [...]
