Warriors still after Yi?

ESPN's Chad Ford is reporting that the Golden State Warriors are still after Yi Jianlian.

Ford speculates that they could offer Brandan Wright and the #14 pick in the draft for Yi. This would be an interesting deal for the Bucks and new GM John Hammond, who did not draft Yi Jianlian and isn't beholden to him. I watched a number of Bucks games early in the year and liked what I saw of Yi. He has a sweet jumper, can handle the ball and drive a bit, and can run the floor. He made a few eye-popping athletic dunks, but at times he just disappeared. That might have had more to do with the coaching staff and strategy, as he didn't get many minutes in crunch time. He averaged 9.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 27 minutes of action before the All-Star break, but was slowed with a wrist injury during the second half of the season.

if this trade goes through it better include their lottery pick. Yi for Wright and our pick makes no sense.

YEAH, THAT DOSEN'T MAKE SENSE!

I wouldn't include picks if I'm the Bucks. The Warriors wanted Yi last season but picked two picks behind the Bucks. That's why Ford is suggesting that they'd give up Wright and #14 for Yi. They wanted him last year, but missed out.

I agree, but a year later Wright looks like the better pick. So I don't see why they would still be interested in Yi.

Yi showed some flashes before the injury, but on a per minute basis, Wright was much better. His minutes were very limited though, so that may be misleading.

Both players minutes were very limited, just that Wright had the tendency to make the most of the playing time given to him. I think this notion is a ploy to drive Wright's value down. Honestly, Yi's probably more talented, physically, however due to the mismanagement by the coaching staff, that's all he is, just raw talent. Darko Milicic was more physically talented than most of the players in the 2003 draft. And look at him now. All the while Wright already looks to at least add much needed depth in the bench, or even solidify the starting PF hole. Basically, anything more than one-for-one (baring we're dealing with Wright/#14 pick) for Yi, isn't worth it.
