In a bizarre week of Seinfeldian symmetry, I ran into Matt Barnes at the Adidas Heritage store in Berkeley yesterday. Not one to shy from an improptu interview opportunity, I went up and introduced myself. I had to try and find out something about the Webber to the Warriors rumor. The conversation went about like this. Make the jump to see what Matt Barnes had to say.

I thought they would sign the glove before they signed Webber. I just hope he dosen't slow down the pace, ya know?
Do you think he & Nellie can get along?
This is crazy. It wouldn't be terrible to release Troy Hudson & see what happens. I just hope they don't get rid of CJ Watson.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Warriors need a big man......no doubt about it.

Webber would be the best fit.....if he doesn't come, Nelson/Mullin better have a good plan B.

Sounds like T-Hud is going to be released. The question is, which is the bigger need? Backup at the point or at the five? Monta's emergence as someone who can rebound from the two spot and/or run the offense for stretches makes the former a lower priority. Biedrins was huge tonight with 26 boards, but it would be nice to have another veteran big. And upon further reflection and some convincing from MB, I think Webber can still get up and down with these guys; but, like Barnes said, running like the Dubs do, you have to want to run. The inference was that it's far from easy to play at that pace and you need to commit to the philosophy.

If Matt Barnes said it then there it is! (lol) I'm sure he knows what is is saying because he played with Webber in Philadelphia. I hope that with Webber coming to the Warriors that he would not only meet up to the team and coaching staffs expectations but the fans as well. I never really followed Webber's career but I'm sure he can bring something good to the team. The Warriors are a fast pace team so I just hope that Webber can fit into their system without any major problems.

i really wish the lakers would pick up CWebb

Supposedly, they're in the hunt too, but if I was C-Webb I'd rather be chasing Monta down the court as a trailer than waiting (and waiting, and hoping) for Kobe to throw me the rock.

Matt knows C-Webb. Played in Sac with him, traded to Philly with him. There both good friends and I'll take his word.

C-Webb may help out with the rotation.
