Forgive the poor English in the title for a moment and consider the question. As anyone who has followed Boston sports over the past five years, there is a tremendous desire on behalf of fans of the Patriots and Red Sox to keep the rosters of championship teams fully intact. The result of these desires has been often nauseating pleas to re-sign unrestricted free agents for each of those team to often absurd terms. Adam Vinatieri, Dave Roberts, and on and on... their former employers didn't see fit to sign these key cogs in championship teams to long term deals and these former employers then received the scorn of many of their fans for not agreeing to those demands.
