Why Mayo Is Right and Love Is Wrong

The professor gives too much credit to Kevin McHale and his ability to find talent in a draft. The fact that McHale likes Love should be reason enough to question the draft pick as McHale has never drafted an All-Star (except Garnett a HS project that happened to work out 13 yrs ago and some All-Stars he traded away on draft day).

The problem with drafting Love is that you don't get any upside. What you get is a predictable 6' 10" guy who won't change defenses. NBA history has shown...

true

um, no upside? thats stupid to say considering how young he is....perfect example of changing the way u play to make your team better is pretty much the entire boston celtics lineup. didnt kevin love drop some pounds before the draft? cuz i remember sculpted figure on draft night, dudes got fundamentals and a mean retro style gameplay and thats always good to have, look at tim duncan, that type of game gets him a ring every other year, id think for sure that the timberwolves will be looking at more success for a long time, not so much for the griz

GET REAL! GRIZ WILL BE COMPETEING FOR A TITLE BY 2011. AND MY MANS RIGHT HE'S A PREDICTABLE 6'10 UNATHLETIC WHITE GUY. HE CANT HANG WITH THE KG'S , DUNCAN'S AND STOUDIMIRE'S OF THE LEAUGE. ON THA OTHER OJ CAN PLAY WITH ANYBODY IN THIS.

he's athletic, but ya he's still white, imagine what Rasheed would do to him, i think Mayo 's still gotta alot to prove as well, he maybre able to slip past a guy with his quickness but i dont see him dominating and taking ovr games just yet

I'm optimistic about the T'wolves. They won't get any better this year, but they now have a potentially dominant big-man combo, plus a hoard of draft picks next year that will land them a "change defenses" kind of guy.

This just in: Mayo has been tearing up the summer league and was just named to the Olympic Select team. He's well on his way.

An absolutely ridiculous statement; probably the most ridiculous of the year - and we have at least five months to go!

I don't know if this guy actually watched any of the college games this season, but by far, Kevin Love was the far better player and this smacks of nothing more than "White Guilt" rearing it's ugly head once again, because a Black man was picked AFTER a White man and the absurd statments made by JDUB901 just backs that up. This has nothing to do with being White or Black, but who's got more talent and overall, Kevin Love has more talent. He can pass like a magician, he can shoot the perimeter J, he can draw the dbl team and be smart enough to find the slashing OPEN man, he can drive the lane and either draw

OJ Mayonnaise was over hyped from the word go. That's not saying that he's not a good player, to the contrary he's a very good player. But Kevin Love was FAR better over all and as the stats showed in college, so too will they show in the pros that Kevin Love will have had the far better career.

I really dont think either of the two have been "tested". Love was awesome at UCLA, but his opponents were terrible. The Lopez bros. were about the biggest test he had until he met the beast from Memphis in Joey Dorsey and we all know what happened there

GET REAL. ONLY TIME WILL TELL AND I HOPE ALL YOU PPL ARE STILL AROUND SO I CAN POINT AND LAUGH. NO WAY KEVIN LOVE HAS A BETTER NBA CAREER THAN OJ. ILL BET CHA MY CAR TITLE ON IT. HELL I MIGHT EVEN THROW IN THA HOUSE WITH IT

what, kevin love's passing ability, his rebounding was off the chain in the summerleagues and he doesn't need to alter defense, al jefferson could back him up on that. AND he has good range for his "size", he's not athletic, but plays hard everyday

'cept Big Al is HORRIBLE on defense. They'll figure it out in a year or two.
