PLAYERS: Yao Ming

I know a freakin 12 year old when I see one, there is absolutely no way in hell that Kexin is 16 years old. On TV the girl looks like she is 8 years old, especially now that it is reported China's official Xinhua news agency nine months ago listed gymnast Kexin as being 13 years old. However, she told reporters on Wednesday that her real age is 16, someone is either retarded or they are LYING. My Personal vote is no older than 11, unless they Chinese have been giving her hormones to slow growth. I have no idea, but I can say someone is lying and there is way to much speculation here. Let's not forget Yao Ming, who does not know is real age??? Weird huh??Well it was reported yesterday that yao quite possibly could be nearing age 40???True, who knows?

  • I'll take the under on He Kexin at 11 and we may find out eventually that Yao Ming is as old as the Sequoias
  • Yao isn't as old as DIKEMBE and it's irrevelent cuz they don't have a CAP in the age of basketball players .... BUT I swear to GOD, that gymnast is PUSHING 12 on a GOOD DAY. I said it on my radio program the other night and I'll say it again: We may never gonna know the truth because nobody is going to investigate the host country in the MIDDLE OF THE GAMES for violations. Years from now it may come out but they'll probably free Tibet before they ever throw their own people under the bus and surrender those medals for violations.
  • I would guess between 8 and 10 yrs. ................no one will ever know though

Nuggets vs. Rockets: Game 58 Preview

(Boulder-CO) The Rockets have seemingly been unaffected by losing their star player, Yao Ming, and I have an explanation for it. The Houston Rockets are playing some of the best basketball in the NBA right now. Last night the Rockets beat the Miami Heat 112-100 for their 10th straight victory and their 14th win in 15 games. The Rockets were led by Tracy McGrady who scored 23 points and 10 assisits, and Yao Ming who put in [......

Yao Ming talks about Olympics, new Hexride shoe

Paul Dalessio of Reebok via Fleischman-Hillard sends over this pretty exclusive (71 views at the time of this posting) interview of Yao Ming talking about what it means for him to play in Beijing this summer, and also touching on his new Reebok Omni Hexride shoe.

Play time over, it's time for Rockets to get serious again

So it turns out the Rockets are better without Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. Or maybe not. I just thought I would be the first to go there. It makes as much sense as the nonsense about them being better...

So much for the streak

22 in a row is a tremedous accomplishment, but the Rockets seem to have fallen back to earth. They are about to lose their 3rd game of the last 4. It was obvious to most of us that they were playing over their heads when the last 10 victories in the streak came after Yao Ming went down. I expect t...

The Wire Troll: Are you Hip to the Skip?

Rafer Alston, left, seen here playing with some other children and Yao Ming, is on one of his patented hot streaks. Another week in the NBA has come and gone and it’s more of the same: Injuries are always taking your players out of the lineup and nobody knows what to do. I get all kinds [...]

The Houston Rockets Fail to Launch

The expectation entering this season (in some circles) was that the Houston Rockets were going to contend with the Spurs, Suns, and Mavericks in the Western Conference.  Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady were going to be healthy and available the entire season.  Luis Scola was acquired from the Spurs to ...

Patrick Ewing: Fifth Member of "Dream Team" to be Inducted in Basketball Hall of Fame

When Patrick Ewing is officially enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame tomorrow, he will be the fifth member of the legendary Dream Team to earn that honor, following in the footsteps of Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler and Magic Johnson. It is possible that all 12 Dream Teamers will eventually be enshrined; the only players about whom there could be the slightest question...

2008 NBA Preview: #6 Houston Rockets

Offseason Movement: The team acquired Ron Artest from the Kings in exchange for Bobby Jackson and draftee Donte Greene. Trading for Artest is a risky move, but one that the Rockets pretty much had to take. The window is closing on the Tracy McGrady/Yao Ming combination and the team had to make a bold move to shake things up. And any move that puts Ron Artest on your roster is a bold...

Parker’s 28 Helps Spurs Edge Rockets 88-85

There’s one thing for certain when the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets get together: good matchups across the board.  Yao Ming vs. Tim Duncan.  Ron Artest vs. Michael Finley.  And on and on.  And the vast majority of their games are competitive.  Nonetheless, both teams got together Saturday night at the Toyota Center and [...]
