You can say this about Isiah Thomas: He doesn't do things half-way. As has been the case with the majority of Zeke's moves as general manager of the Knicks, this could be one of the best deals of this NBA offseason or one of the absolute worst. Unfortunately for Knicks fans, more often than not Isiah's wheelings and dealings have blown up in his face.
In this latest blockbuster, the Knicks are acquiring a monster in the paint with a spotty record off the court. Whether Zeke can get the 25-year old problem child to straighten out his life and focus on basketball is just one of the hurtles the Knicks will have to clear in the wake of Randolph's acquisition. The other, and perhaps more significant, is whether there's enough room in the paint for both Randolph and Eddy Curry to coexist. The team faced similar questions when Steve Francis was first acquired to play in the backcourt with Stephon Marbury, and the experiment turned out to be a disaster.
While I'm not convinced the Knicks are facing similar ruin in this instance, Knicks fans should brace for some major growing pains as these two young big man adjust to one another. The odds are certainly against it, however there is potential here for a dynamic frontcourt unparalleled in the Eastern Conference, if not the league.

Just ran into Greg Oden and Josh McRoberts in Tualatin...
First blog here. I'm an artist/musician and I originally posted this on my myspace blog. Got a fun Greg Oden experience to share, but I seriously doubt that any sports fans are looking at my myspace. With that, I'm psyched to be here and I hope to post more.
Here's the repost:

ESPN reporting Blazers to take Oden at No. 1
Breaking News from ESPN…
"..ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported on Wednesday night that Greg Oden's camp has been notified that he will be the No. 1 pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in Thursday's NBA draft.
It was not an easy choice. Oden tested better at predraft camp, Kevin Durant had the sharper workout in Portland.
Dominant big men are usually impossible...
On top Oden the "Transformer"!!! Portland awaits ANOTHER monster deal in 2-3 days!!!
Just one more incredible draft for the Portland Trailblazers! This link provides video and insight into the planning in the war room. Still, not sitting pat though, the Blazers have announced that once the New York deal gets done officially, there is one more piece... a real monster small forward deal to complete the team. Now, c'mon, ...who could this be???
Oh Yeah! ...
Parties are over. Let's look at the roster.
We all had fun at the draft parties and the after-draft parties last night. We welcomed our new Blazers to Portland downtown today. Now let's look at the roster we have after all the celebrating is over and all the deals we know about are processed.
PG: Jarrett Jack, Sergio Rodriguez, Taurean Green, Steve Francis

Stephon Marbury Tips Homeless Man $300 To Watch His Bentley
Stephon Marbury has apparently been watching a lot of Coming To America recently, because he totally just decided to pull a Prince Akeem and give a homeless individual quite a sum of money. Hopefully Starbury's bum-friend doesn't turn out to be a corrupt CEO. Anyway, Marbury tipped a bum $300 to watch his Bentley in New York recently, which is quite the act of charity.
Allan Houston Contemplating a Return
Chalk up Allan Houston on the list of athletes who are retired who just want to play again and win that 1 title. He was just on Stephen A's radio show saying that he's "healthy" and is thinking about a return.
Angry man down low: Zach Randolph trade reactions
So Zach Randolph, the consistent 20-10 performer, got traded (again) more so for his actions off the court than his production on. The Blazers are kind of legit now, with a starting lineup that includes Greg Oden, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Brandon Roy! Plus, they picked up Taurean Green from Florida at the point and made a bunch of trades. Not to forget getting Channing Frye and Steve...
It's Finally Official: Oden To Blazers
Big congratulations to one of Yardbarker's own, Greg Oden. I'm sure Portland made a great choice and the city of Portland is going to love Greg. Good luck Greg!

Will Steve Francis aquisition help Blazers Sign Seattle's Rashard Lewis by Monday?
I wonder: Could Steve Francis turn out to be an ideal barganining chip to make a sign-and-trade deal for Seattle's Rashard Lewis? Booooyah!!!!
With the Sonics trading Ray Allen to Boston Thursday night that leaves Damien Wilkins and Wally Szerbiak as their shooting guards. Francis can pull the trigger much more efficiently than eiither. This article says "the Sonics...
Knicks' Marbury says God's plan finally working
Yea, and the Knicks will win the NBA Championship next season. Starbury aside, the Knicks still suck and Eddy Curry isn't going to get good all of a sudden, and Zach Randolph can only stay out of trouble for so long.Plus, they're New York, they will screw up somewhere along the road.
Hail, Blazers! Not Jail Blazers
In reflecting back on my life I realize how many memories involve the Portland Trail Blazers. I remember the aftermath of the championship season, but not the games themselves. I was too young to register the images of the television set and its relatively primitive coverage, though I do remember the emotions of my family. The following years are more firmly embossed on my memory...
Portland may not be done wheeling and dealing
The Portland Trail Blazers have been very busy this off-season, trading Zach Randolph and drafting Greg Oden. Anybody know about the next move, I hear there looking to trade for Phoenix's James Jones?
Oden waits, Durant Debates, Pritchard Just Sits and Elates!
The City is on Edge. Kevin Pritchard is not offering a clue. Speaking of Today's Decision, he says "We got everything on the table today, and we feel good with where we are going." Pritchard said. "We are in a good position right now. A good place."
Durant on Wednesday said he would like to be the top pick, but figures that Oden will be the first player...
Just How Badly does Prichard love Durant!!!!
Wow Check this "Quick Chat" (stream/podcast) link at The Portland Oregonian 'Oregon Live' to find VERY interesting analysis of an insider in the Trailblazer organization. Could be deemed extrememly imperative.
