I apologize for the late post. I've actually been traveling back from Boston back to Phoenix, so I haven't had time to post. I had the privilege of being in attendance for the home opener on Tuesday, and it was as memorable a sporting event that I have ever been to. The way they brought out the trophy. The emotion of Paul Pierce. The presentation of the rings. And, of course, the raising of the 17th banner. I have some pretty good video of the festivities, which I will post in the next few days. Oh, and there was a game played, too. The Celtics shook off some early-game jitters/adrenaline, and took care of business in the 2nd half, beating the Cavs 90-85. P2 led all scorers with 27 points, and Rondo added 14 points, 6 assists, and 4 crashes to the floor. If there's a PG that takes more of a beating than Rondo, I don't know who it would be. Leon Powe also came up big, scoring 13 points, and every basket he scored seemed to be at the most critical time. This was a nice opening-night win, as the Celtics looked like themselves in the second half. More importantly, they came away with a win in which KG, Sugar Ray, and Eddie House just couldn't get it going. Those types of wins are always extra-nice.Click here for the box score.
