The Charlotte Observer ran an column about the lack of stardom and high profile players in the ACC next year. With so many experienced players leaving for the NBA the conference is taking a big hit in terms of star power.

I bring this up because of Boston College's Rakim Sanders. Sanders played in Rice's spotlight the past two seasons, but has the natural athleticism and skill to emerge as a star in this league. He already possesses uncanny jumping ability, the likes of which we haven't seen in Conte Forum in quite some time. He finishes high flying dunks and blocks with ease. His shot and defense have progressed nicely over the past two seasons. If Sanders can maintain his focus each and every game and give his best effort he will blossom. I would not be surprised if he earns All-ACC next year. The next step for him is to develop consistency, and if and when he does, he will become an unstoppable scoring force.
