Sorry for the lack of stories everyone, I've had a busy week of moving. Lets get back into the swing of things...- Donnie Walsh recently spoke to the press about the off season signings and possible future acquisitions for the NY Knicks. He specifically stated that they were "looking for guys that can play a total game." Does that sound like anyone you may have heard of? He also sounded quite unsure about what the Knicks could actually accomplish this season. - The Denver Nuggets are looking to sign at least two more free agents for the upcoming season to fill out the roster and according to the Denver Post basketball blog they are considering 3-point specialist Wally Szcerbiak to fill the void. The Denver Post also said another guy to watch is Rashad McCants but I'm not sure if that has any credibility.- Stephon Marbury continues to fall further down the rabbit hole as he admits to smoking marijuana on his UStream. I have nothing to say about that or his first Ustream but apparently Brendon Haywood does. Here's a great read from Henry Abbott of TrueHoop about the entire Haywood-Marbury comments.- Iverson said this, "If you think that I am just going away-Think again! I am getting ready
for the NBA season. Waiting for the call. Charlotte, Miami, NY." via his Twitter account. I love the guy but I don't think Walsh would ever do this, nor would any Knicks fan want him to.- Not sure if anyone else saw RealGM get called out by Bill Simmons the other night. If not, I will give you the quick rundown. It started when RealGM writer Alex Kennedy reported that the Knicks were possibly pursuing Ricky Rubio over the coming week. Within 6 minutes (yes 6 minutes), Bill Simmons tweeted this, "Note to Real GM: You can't publish crap like this. The Knicks have no 2010 pick. How the F are they getting Rubio?"Simmons didn't stop there, as he tweeted this an hour and a half later,"Only 2 teams have the right players & cap figure assets for Minny AND make sense for Rubio. Easy to figure out. Sorry, NYK not one of the 2."RealGM never responded back. Simmons 1 - RealGM 0.- David Lee has finally realized why the Knicks aren't throwing a lot of guaranteed money at him. Glad to see he is handling this with some class. My feeling is that NY will end up resigning him to a 1-year deal and look to trade him by the trade deadline this year. Possibly a trade piece for Chris Bosh? Doubtful, but hey, I can dream.
