Okay, so the picture of Leandro Barbosa getting pulled down by Keith Bogans in last night's Brooklyn game looked worse than it actually was but with The Blur joking about it as a possible future UFC match, we wondered how that match would play out.
Of course, I imagined it going down in an old Western saloon with Cary Grant in the background and KG up front yelling out his famous quote.

Honestly, if this kind of thing was always OK in the NBA, I'd be perfectly fine with that. After all, I was OK with Rondo's half-hearted clothesline of Wade (the above is obviously worse and way more obvous). However, Rondo's was called a flagrant, the above was reversed. It's that inconsistency that bugs the hell out of me.
The Nets game was reffed inconsistently...
HE HELD HIM UP THOUGH
The screencaps on this Keith Bogans foul look worse than the GIF. Look, if Bogans snaps Leandro Barbosa’s neck, then we might be talking flagrant. He’s only holding Leandro’s neck to prevent him from crashing to the floor. That’s just tough Brooklyn Nets playoff basketball right there – in November. Last night’s Celtics/Nets game got a little testy late in the second quarter, when Boston’s Leandro Barbosa appeared to have an easy look at a basket in transition before being grabbed by Brooklyn’s Keith Bogans from behind. The play appeared to be an obvious candidate for a flagrant foul call, which turned out to actually [...]
The Celtics battled hard but came up short in their first regular season visit to the Barclays Center. Without Rondo, the Celtics started Leandro Barbosa, who played very well, scoring 17 points to go with 2 assists and 2 rebounds. At one point he was put in a choke hold by Keith Bogans that was clearly a flagrant foul, but the refs ruled it just a regular foul.
Everyone knows how I feel about NBA officiating. I feel that most are either incompetent or they have an agenda. They make star calls. They show favoritism. (Have you watched a Heat game lately?) They ignore some obvious fouls committed right in front of them while calling others from across the court without a line of site to the action. This season they can review fouls to...
