Some players’ jump shots in the NBA are so ugly, they bring two things to mind. One: how does their shot ever go in? Two: how have they not learned to shoot?  Of the players on the Ugliest Jump Shot Team, only one is a decent shooter, despite the fact that he uses more elbow on his jumper then Metta World Peace does on James Harden. PG: Rajon Rondo via bleacherreport.com Rondo’s jump shot is so bad that players give him a Mugsy Bogues length of space (little more then 5 feet) when defending him. Usually when you are an all-star point guard, you are pretty good at shooting the ball. Rondo has a career field goal percentage of 48.2%, but only because most of his baskets are around the rim.  I nearly cringe every time I see Rondo shoot a jump shot, and he only takes one when teams dare him to shoot, which is a defensive scheme not even too complex for Mike D’Antoni. SG: Ronnie Brewer via thewindyapple.com Ronnie Brewer is a Taking Bad Schotz favorite, having made both the All Average, and Ugliest Jump Shot team.  These accomplishments define Brewer’s career, and the type of player he is; a defensive specialist with zero scoring ability.  Since joining the New York Knicks this season, Brewer is averaging a career high in three point attempts per game, with two.  This is two too many, as the chances of Brewer converting a three is almost as likely as Steve Novak blocking a shot.  This is probably because Brewer has a very long release on his shot, making him very difficult to play with in NBA2K. SF: Shawn Marion via espn.go.com/losangeles/photos/gallery Marion has the most notorious jump shot in the NBA.  Not only does he use two hands, but he releases the ball incredibly fast.  Yet for some reason, the ball tends to go in.  For a player with this ugly of a jump shot, Marion hasn’t shied away from taking three pointers.  He is only a 33.1% shooter from deep for his career, which is an impressive stat line for a guy who shoots with two hands.  Kids, don’t try this at home, or you may get benched. PF: Chuck Hayes via celticstown.com Man, does he have an awful jump shot.  Chuck Hayes is such a bad shooter, that at 6’6”, teams have played him at center so they can keep him as close to the basket as possible.  Few players in NBA history are more famous for being bad free throw shooters than Shaquille O’Neal, and Chuck Hayes is one of them.  Only Hayes is capable of making a free throw look more difficult then a 360 dunk: Click here to view the video on YouTube. C: Joakim Noah via sportsgrid.com Joakim Noah not only has an ugly face and haircut, but his jump shot is far from pretty, to say the least.  Like Rajon Rondo, Noah is a very good passer for his position, compensating for his horrible shooting.  He is averaging 4.4 assists per game this season, which is very impressive for a center.  However, if Noah learned how to shoot like a real NBA player, maybe he would average fewer assists, and more points, something the Bulls need with Derrick Rose sidelined. -Blewis
