Allen Iverson has been playing overseas since his unceremonious departure from the NBA, but the D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks made Iverson an offer that would get his closer to a return to the NBA.  The Texas Legends had offered Iverson an invite to play with them, but Iverson declined.Iverson said via Twitter that he wants to make a comeback to the NBA, but he does not want to do so in the D-League.I thank Donnie and Dallas for the consideration and while I think the D-League is a great opportunity, it is not the route for me.— Allen Iverson (@alleniverson) January 29, 2013My dream has always been to complete my legacy in the NBA— Allen Iverson (@alleniverson) January 29, 2013Iverson last played in the NBA back in the 2009-10 season with the Memphis Grizzlies.  He played for four different teams in his 14-year NBA career.  Iverson was fantastic when he was playing, but he had his issues both on and off the court. In his career, Iverson averaged 26.7 points per game and 6.2 assists per game.  He was always impressive because of what he did with seemingly so little.  Iverson is not big, but he could easily shoot over taller players.  He overcame and shortcomings he may have had with speed and deception.  He made players fall down when they tried to guard him. If Iverson can return to the NBA it will be in a reduced capacity, but he would still put on a show worth watching.  Maybe a D-League invite is all he will get, but there could be a team out there willing to sign him to their NBA roster directly.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
