According to the Celtics (via ESPN Boston)
Celtics guards Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus both underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday morning at New England Baptist Hospital, according to the team. Both surgeries were completed by Celtics team physician Dr. Brian McKeon and assisted by Dr. Mark Slovenkai.
No shock here. Though I suppose this shows I should be a little easier than I’ve been on Pietrus. The guy had a concussion, came back from that before any of us thought, and played on a knee that needed surgery. Not that I ever questioned his dedication to this team… but you forget some of these things when you watch games and wish for the performances they might give when fully healthy.
I’m wondering if ANYONE on this team was healthy by the end.

We’ve said it many times, ‘tis the season for NBA trade and free agency speculation.

Unlike Kevin Garnett, Allen is not considering retirement and he could easily help a contending team. And if...

Did the Miami Heat bring Boston’s ‘big Three’ era to an unceremoniously end last week? Most basketball observers think so to some degree – and I agree. While I believe it’s of the utmost importance that Boston bring back unrestricted free agent Kevin Garnett, I can very well see the team losing sweet-shooting two guard Ray Allen. Allen may have finished up the 2011-12 season...
The Celtics' season has finally come to an end after a Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday. With the defeat comes plenty of questions about The Big Three's future. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen are free agents, casting some doubt over their future in Boston. Garnett, in particular, was effective this season, but he, Allen and Paul Pierce are all starting to get up there...
The Big Three's window in Boston may finally be closing. It's safe to say that the Celtics got much more than they bargained for out of the combination of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett, what with the C's taking the Heat to Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals. What was expected to be a three-year run at the title has turned into a five-year era in the storied...
The Celtics future is very much in flux. Everyone sort of realized that after their Eastern Conference Finals loss to the Heat and the fact that two of the three of the celebrated Big Three of 2008 are free agents.
No one is quite sure what will happen with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Paul Pierce is a Celtics lifer and Rajon Rondo -- despite midseason rumors -- is the future of...
It wasn’t that long ago when Danny Ainge brought in Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to join Paul Pierce, leading the Celtics to their first NBA Championship in 22 years. That season was as fun as they come, and the rest of the four years wasn’t four behind. That trio might have played its last game together, so take a look at this video and remember that first championship run.
