There really is a book, or a Lifetime movie, or some other melodramatic experience, waiting to be told about these New York Knicks. Tonight in Miami, Team Telenovela lost by 10 to the Heat, then punctuated the experience with Dumas (consonants dropped at the behest of my advertisers) big man Amar'e Stoudamire decided to show his displeasure by, I am not making this up, punching a glass fire extinguisher case. No, seriously. The glass shattered, as it's supposed to. It embedded in Stoudamire's hand, causing stitches, and requiring paramedics with his left arm in a sling.  He might have taken himself out of the series, such as it is, and the reaction of his teammates (Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler) spoke volumes, in that they seemed genuinely amused by the stupidity of it all.You see, Chandler and Anthony know that they are getting swept. They know that the Heat are better than them, even while healthy, left alone decimated by self and life-inflicted injuries. It's ...

NBA Playoffs: How Much Trouble Are The Knicks In?

There is no doubt in my mind that Amar’e Stoudemire is the most frustrated basketball player in the entire NBA. He has battled injuries, the loss of his brother, on-court struggles, and now a hand injury that he busted open last night after New York‘s loss to Miami in the Eastern Conference playoffs. A little over a year ago Stoudemire left The Desert for the Concrete Jungle...

Knicks, Stoudemire bound together

Amar'e Stoudemire losing a fight with a fire extinguisher was the latest turn in what's been a really weird season for the New York Knicks.  From their awful start, to "Linsanity", to 'Melo going to hero to villain back to hero (and getting a coach to quit in the process) in approximately 30 days, Gotham didn't seem to have a quiet week all season long...
