The reserves, selected by the NBA coaches, for the Eastern and Western Conference All-Star teams were recently announced on TNT, and the Sixers’ Andre Iguodala was the final player announced. Iguodala, a first-time All-Star, has been one of the leaders on the 18-8 Philadelphia Sixers. He’s averaging 13.0 PPG,  6.7 RPG, 5.2 APG, and 1.8 steals per game this season. Doug Collins stated that he has been losing sleep wondering whether one of his players would make the team. Although Lou Williams is having a great year and could’ve been an All-Star, it’s great to see Andre getting the recognition he’s so greatly deserved over his career. From ’07 to ’10, Iguodala was averaging around 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, but his team has never made the spark they have this year. It seems astonishing the coaches never voted him in before.  Now, it seems the NBA is finally recognizing Iguodala as one of the best defenders and all-around players in the game.
