The Pacers have been pretty clear that signing Andrew Bynum wasn’t in an attempt to make sure he didn’t sign with the Heat. But in fact, it was done to strengthen their team. That message was driven home even further in story GM Kevin Pritchard to ESPN’s Colin Cowherd detailing the details surrounding Bynum’s agreement with the Pacers. While there were multiple teams after Bynum, the Pacers took their time and did their due diligence on Bynum. And it all culminated during a three-hour dinner where Bynum explained to the Pacers why he was worth taking a gamble on. After a three-hour dinner, the Pacers brass felt assured in adding Bynumto the roster. Pacers General Manager Kevin Pritchard revealed this detail during a Tuesday morning interview with ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd. Pritchard said that during the Friday night dinner – which included team president Larry Bird and coach Frank Vogel — Bynum made quite the pitch to join the Eastern Conference-leading Pacers. “He...

Andrew Bynum reportedly convinced Pacers to sign him

The Andrew Bynum saga from earlier this year took on a life of its own as fans were reminded of how self-centered the big man’s image was when it came to how he carried himself with a team. Revisit: Photos of Andrew Bynum bowling in Manayunk

If you know me somewhat well, then you know I reside in Manayunk, right on the outside of the City of Brotherly Love. There's not too much in Manayunk except a mess of bars and/or restaurants with enough food and drink to put the entire city into a stupor. Which isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong, but as far as sports news, that's mostly generated about 15 miles...
