Hornets forward and former Kentucky Wildcat, Anthony Davis will miss the rest of his rookie season with a strained MCL and a bone bruise. Their is no structural damage in the knee, and he will not require any surgery. Davis was averaging 13 points, 8 rebounds, and almost 2 blocks a game. The Hornets have three games left on their regular season slate, and will not be in the playoffs. Since watching guys like Nerlens Noel and Louisville’s Kevin Ware go down with gruesome knee injuries, you always have to feel for guys that suffer with these kind of injuries. The first big scare for Anthony Davis and his knee came in the Sweet 16 matchup with Baylor. During the closing moments of that game, Davis collided knee-to-knee with Baylor’s Perry Jones III. After thinking the worst, he was able to walk it off and continue the game. This injury is enough to sideline Davis, but not enough to harm him in the long run. Best wishes and a speedy recovery for him, Noel, and Ware.
