Major props to this young lady because who in their right mind would ever look at a basketball and think, “Wow, that would really make a great paint brush.” Kudos to her for the creativity.
Aside from the impressive painting she does of Yao, you also have to admire some of her quick dribbling skills (other than a few obvious double dribbles). It’s like she watched a Steve Nash instructional video before embarking on this challenge.
It’s a little bit of a bummer she didn’t use one of those microfiber composite Spalding basketballs that lasted less a season in the NBA a while back. Those balls just can’t catch a break.

Video: Steve Nash Can Snowboard…Sort Of
Apparently, Phoenix Suns Point Guard Steve Nash is not satisfied with being skilled in two sports. He’s also got some serious soccer skills. Now Nash is trying his hand in snowboarding…kind of.

Video: Painting Yao Ming with a basketball as a brush
There are few better adjectives to describe a great basketball player than "inspirational." If an athlete is truly great, he makes other people want to accomplish great things themselves. Where people take that newfound sense of purpose is anyone's guess — at some point you just need to accept other people's personal eccentricities.
So, as you watch this video...

Video: Painting Yao Ming portrait using basketball as brush
I find this fascinating — a woman paints a portrait of Yao Ming, in Rockets red (or China red, if you prefer), using a basketball as a brush. It’s technically impressive, and a good portrait. All sorts of questions here. Why? Is it better to use a synthetic ball because the paint adheres better than…
2004-era Mark Cuban didn’t think Steve Nash would still be walking at this point
The league churns along, people tend to forget, and rumor turns into legend turns into "fact." I'm sounding like inarticulate grandpa again, wobbling as he gives the Thanksgiving toast, but we needed to be reminded of long-ago lost context from time to time. Which is why it was nice of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to remind us of why, exactly, he declined to spend...
Mamma mia! Raptors actually win a game
Welcome back Andrea Bargnani! The big bowl of pasta returned in style last night, scoring 36 points as the Toronto Raptors beat the Phoenix Suns 99-96.
Not only did the Raptors end a eight-game losing streak, the ended a 14-game losing streak to Steve Nash and the Suns.
Now did I see this big win? Well, kind of. I did watch the end of the second quarter before heading to bed. The...
