Today, barring a last minute miracle at the buzzer, the NBA will enter a lockout of the players, and with it, two of the Big-4 pro sports leagues in North America will be in the throes of a work stoppage. And while the NFL is on the cusp of ending theirs in time to save the upcoming season, most that are looking at the NBA’s labor woes see a great divide between the sides, one that could have not only regular season games lost, but possibly an entire season. In looking at the numbers, there is ample information to say this: the current model is broken. How it gets fixed is what has gotten the sides so far apart.
