HOUSTON -- For a team admittedly dependent upon 3-point shooting, the Rockets deserve credit for showcasing offensive versatility when their normally reliable perimeter touch failed them Wednesday night. Rockets center Omer Asik, with a late assist from reserve forward Patrick Patterson, led a dominating effort in the paint as the Rockets earned a 104-92 win over the New Orleans Hornets at Toyota Center. The Rockets (18-14) missed 19 of 24 3-point attempts yet negated that subpar showing by outscoring the Hornets (7-25) 60-28 in the paint. "Every time we made a mistake they were at the rim," Hornets coach Monty Williams said. "They just kept attacking our guards with penetration. They didn't knock down the 3s they normally knock down, but I thought they played in our paint all night long." Asik matched his career high of 21 points and added eight rebounds. Patterson chipped in 15 points, 13 after the Rockets went small for defense in the fourth quarte...

As if the Houston Rockets organization needed anymore headaches or heartache this season, the Royce White problem has moved from “very real” to “dire”. In November, White took a public shot at the Rockets’ front office, accusing upper management of being “inconsistent with their agreement to proactively create a healthy and successful relationship”. The public jabs...
The Rockets took no action Monday regarding rookie Royce White’s not reporting to their NBA Development League affiliate. White said in a statement Sunday that he would not comply with the assignment, but he was not scheduled to join the Rio Grande Valley Vipers until Monday.
Rockets officials were still considering their next step, which could include a suspension.
The Houston Rockets were among the biggest spenders early in free agency last summer, grabbing starting point guard and international sensation, Jeremy Lin, to be their starting point guard, after losing Goran Dragic and trading Kyle Lowry. They also signed Omer Asik, one of the better defensive centers in the league. They were able to steal both players from the New York Knicks...
The Rockets did not complete the signing of forward James Anderson on Monday in time for Anderson to be put on the roster for their game against the Hawks.
Anderson was in the locker room before the game hoping to get word by the 5 p.m. deadline to suit up.
The Rockets will cut Daequan Cook to create room to sign Anderson.

For the most part, Greg Smith has been the ideal backup center for the Houston Rockets. With his great hands and soft touch around the rim, Smith’s skill set is especially complementary to that of Omer Asik, a big, defensive-minded bruiser with limited offensive polish. Listed 6’10” 250, Smith brings legitimate size to the table, and he’s pretty athletic, too. He can...
Carlos Delfino blames his countryman, Manu Ginobili, for giving him a case of food poisoning.
Here is a video of Jeremy Lin's monster block on Josh Smith during the New Year Eve's game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets. The Rockets won the game 123-104 and Lin finished the game with 16 points and 8 assists.
HOUSTON (AP) -- James Harden had 31 points and seven assists to lead the Houston Rockets to a 104-92 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night.
When he couldn't find a rhythm from beyond the arc, Harden took to the paint, where he scored 16 of his points. Houston outscored New Orleans 60-28 in the paint.
Harden has led the Rockets in scoring for 14 straight games...
Well, after everything Royce White has declared, Tweeted and accused the NBA and the Houston Rockets off, at least White knows what he "doesn't" want regarding his basketball future.
It's not the D-League.
And now it’s not Europe too.
During another week of tit-for-tat between White and the NBA in which the Rockets’ yet-to-play rookie made a resounding...

With the 16th overall pick in the NBA draft, Royce White is acknowledging that the NBA, might not know how to address his fear of flying, which is apart of a larger mental health disorder.
Making an appearance, SiriusXM’s “Off the dribble”, White doesnt blame the Houston Rockets for not knowing how to handle the situation.
“The reality is that it is not Houston’s...
While James Harden continues to lead the way for the Houston Rockets, one of the team's lesser-known names is also keying their success.
Harden and Carlos Delfino look to build on impressive efforts Wednesday night as the Rockets host the New Orleans Hornets, losers of three straight at the Toyota Center.

It has been a long
time since I have done a weekly column with the holidays and vacations around.
However, that is no excuse on my part and there are a lot of topics I would

Tthe Hornets refused to submit, even when the Rockets strung together three consecutive 3-point plays midway through the third quarter. But New Orleans finally...
