Fox Sports North:
Two of the NBA's best rebounders, Kevin Love and DeMarcus Cousins, are set to renew acquaintances again. Cousins, however, hasn't been much of a factor against Love's Minnesota Timberwolves this season. The home team has won every matchup between Cousin's Sacramento Kings and the Timberwolves heading into Monday night's meeting of last-place teams at Power Balance Pavilion. Love is averaging 13.7 rebounds to rank second in the NBA, while Cousins is fourth at 11.1 boards per game. Minnesota's star has played in two of the three meetings between the clubs this season, averaging 27.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. Love continues to lead the NBA with 45 double-doubles. Cousins has appeared in all three matchups, totaling 29 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 10 of 29 shooting. He's been plagued by foul trouble every time, failing to log 25 minutes in any of the three contests and totaling 13 fouls. Minnesota (25-29) dropped into last place in the Northwest Division after falling 119-106 at Portland on Sunday. Love's string of double-doubles ended at 10 games after he had 26 points and nine rebounds for the Timberwolves, who trail Houston by 3 12 games for the Western Conference's eighth and final playoff spot. "We've got to win almost every game now," Love said. "So it's still there for us, but we need a tremendous amount of luck on our side as well."Minnesota hasn't had much luck in the injury department. The Wolves are without J.J. Barea (bruised right quadriceps), Michael Beasley (sprained toe), Darko Milicic (strained right hamstring) and Nikola Pekovic (bone spurs in right ankle), and rookie guard Ricky Rubio is out for the season with a knee injury. "Losing Ricky was obviously the toughest thing for us. We were able to grind out games and get wins, but then Pek went down, J.J. continued to be hurt and Michael just added firepower," Love said. Cousins failed in his bid to post six straight double-doubles for the first time in his career as the Kings fell 111-99 at home to New Jersey on Saturday. He had 14 points and nine rebounds after averaging 28.0 and 15.0 over his previous five contests.Sacramento (18-34), the last-place team in the Pacific Division, averaged 18.0 turnovers in two losses at Minnesota this season before taking better care of the ball with 11 giveaways in a 115-99 home win over the Timberwolves on March 18. Marcus Thornton is averaging 19.3 points in the season series to lead the Kings. The Kings welcomed a day off Sunday after they felt fatigued during the second half of a back-to-back set of games, a 111-99 home loss Saturday to New Jersey. "We didn't have the energy we needed," coach Keith Smart said.

MINNEAPOLIS See the point guard collapsed on the court, clutching his right ankle? The one the Minnesota Timberwolves struggled to replace in the fourth quarter of Monday's 116-108 loss in Sacramento, the one who'd denied injuries for weeks despite bruises and ice packs, constant stiffness and pain?He was supposed to be traded. At least, that's what speculation said...
It was one injury too many.
Blink, and you missed it. But count the players on the court in the final minutes of the third quarter of Monday's 116-108 loss to Sacramento, and there was something off. I just saw the Sacramento Kings play in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz, and while I was there to watch my favorite team play in their home building for the first time, I was also excited to see the young and exciting Sacramento Kings. The Kings are not having a very good season. They are 18-34, and are last in the Pacific Division. But unlike other teams that are bad, they...
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams had his one-handed dunk attempt rejected by the rim during the second quarter of Sunday's NBA game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Williams received a perfect pass from teammate Malcolm Lee and found himself alone under the basket, so he went for the monster slam dunk to get himself into the sports highlight reels. Unfortunately...
The Minnesota Timberwolves are having a renaissance of sorts as it pertains to NBA relevancy, and one needn’t look much further than the amount of team-made and fan-created viral videos that have been circulating the interwebs since the beginning of this season. And while Ricky Rubio’s season-ending knee injury let the air out of any [...]

It looks as if the Trailblazers will not make the playoffs this season, as there are not many games left and they are 4 games out of the last playoff spot. At least they host the struggling Timberwolves tonight who have lost 7 of their last 10 games.

Before Ricky Rubio went down with a season ending knee injury in Minnesota, the Spanish point guard was in a close race with Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving for who would take home NBA Rookie of the Year honors this season.
Rubio tearing his ACL in early March changed that debate and Irving’s been the front-runner ever since. But is the Cavs’ point guard and former overall...
The Timberwolves have emerged this season from the depths of obscurity, but they didn’t do themselves any favors when Vanilla Ice performed during halftime of a recent game. Ice, Ice, Baby was in full swing via the rapper in a Kevin Love jersey. If you want to endure some of the video, check it out.
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Minnesota.
The debate before Friday night's game at Target Center was whether Kevin Garnett in his prime or Kevin Love as a 23-year-old stats monster was the best player in Timberwolves history.
