A lot of little notes a day before UC football picks back up to the delight of us all. First off, if you missed the midseason Bearcats roundtable with Matt Opper from Down the Drive, Chris Bains from Cincy on the Prowl and myself, well don't miss it any longer. Here is part 1 and here is part 2. photo via Those lovely people are the 2013 inductees into the Bearcats Hall of Fame. They are Ron Stapleton, a cross country star, June Dupont-Fitzgerald, a volleyball player, Kenyon Martin, the best Bearcat of modern times, and Gino Guidugli, a quarterback in the early 2000s. Kenyon would have been in the HOF a lot sooner, but he was not very happy with the way Cincinnati handled the Bob Huggins situation and refused to have much to do with the school. Thankfully he has changed his tune at his older age. You can watch his tribute video here. Tommy G and the American dropped this nugget on us yesterday. Cincinnati's game with SMU is a nooner. The game of the week was UCF vs UConn last week, so this is a local channel affair. It is not surprising at all this is a noon game. I'm pretty sure Rutgers will also be a noon game. Houston will probably not be since it's at Houston. Those are the only unannounced games left. The season is almost over. Here are the American BCS rankings for this week. 19 - Louisville 23 - UCF 31 - Houston 58 - Rutgers 84 - SMU 88 - Cincinnati 97 - South Florida 100 - Memphis 110 - Temple 118 - Connecticut 92, 78, 86, 66, 91, 93. Those are the Cincinnati computer rankings. If you are wondering why UC is so low, Illinois is ranked 86 and Miami is dead last at 122. The 3 conference foes they have played are 97, 110 and 118. They have lost to one of them. On paper the team does not deserved to be ranked so low, but in terms of how you judge teams, they probably do. This season is not going to be remembered too fondly if something huge doesn't happen the last month. I don't mean that in a bad way. It's more of a lost year where UC joined a weird league and didn't play anyone. We are looking at 1 top 20 BCS team all season. Hell, we are looking at 2 top 50 BCS teams ALL SEASON. And that's being nice because Houston has trips to UCF and Louisville before they host the Bearcats. Hell, maybe two top 60 depending on what happens to Rutgers. It kind of sucks a lot. Let's hit some bowl projections in the mouth. Pinstripe - December 28 vs Toledo (USA TODAY) vs Notre Dame (Sporting News) vs Notre Dame (ESPN) vs Notre Dame (SB Nation) Compass  - January 4 vs Florida (CBS/PALM) vs Florida (ATHLON) vs Florida (ESPN) vs Florida (CFN) vs Florida (NFP) vs Florida (Orlando Sentinel) vs Tennessee (STEELE) Ending up in a bowl game, albeit a crap one like the Compass Bowl, is going to be the biggest game of the season. Especially if it's against Florida. Or Tennessee. If they play Notre Dame, it would be huge as well. The coach with the most success ever against his former team. The coach who just cut out against the players he recruited. The team that smashed UC in the Sugar Bowl against a bunch of people who weren't around back then so that one doesn't matter as much but they are Florida. Just don't end up being Mississippi State or Toledo. A huge congratulations to the UC volleyball team. The ladies had been off to a completely awful start to the season, 0-22, before beating Rutgers on Sunday. Way to be. Finally, if you are going to Memphis tomorrow night, you don't want to miss this:     WHAT:  The Allstate Tailgate Tour, a unique and interactive fan experience visiting college football stadiums across the country, is heading to the University of Memphis this week as the Tigers take on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday, Oct. 30.   From creating signs in support of the Bearcats, to participating in games for a chance to win tailgate items, fans can take part in a variety of family-friendly activities at the Allstate Tailgate Tour.   At the tour, fans will also be invited to enter the “Allstate Ultimate Road Trip Sweepstakes,” where one grand prize winner and three friends will receive a VIP trip to the Allstate® Sugar Bowl® in New Orleans, where they will have the chance to watch the game with college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, followed by a trip to the 2014 VIZO BCS National Championship™ in Pasadena.
