The Portland Trail Blazers have picked up forward J.J. Hickson off waivers.
Hickson was waived by Sacramento on Monday. The Kings acquired him last June from Cleveland for forward Omri Casspi and a conditional future first-round draft pick. He played 35 games for the Kings, averaging 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per contest.
He had been bothered recently by back spasms and played only six minutes in the past 10 games.
Hickson was a first-round pick by Cleveland out of North Carolina State in 2008.

DeMarcus Cousins is a 6’11″ center but apparently he thinks he has the ball-handling skills of a young Magic Johnson.
Against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night Cousins ended up with the ball on the break and worked his way through three defenders, juking guard Jamaal Tinsley with a sweet, behind-the-back dribble before finishing with a lay-in.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough...
The Sacramento Kings waived reserve forward J.J. Hickson on Monday.
The club had acquired Hickson in June from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Omri Casspi and a first-round pick.
Hickson, in his fourth year, was averaging 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 35 games this season with Sacramento.
The Kings (16-29) own the second-fewest wins in the Western Conference.
Kings center DeMarcus Cousins fouled out of last night’s win over the Grizzles with 6:48 left in the game. But instead of taking a seat, grabbing a Gatorade, and becoming a spectator, he asked head coach Keith Smart to let him coach. Keith Smart agreed and Cousins takes it from there. Via @outsidethenba
When you foul out of a game in the fourth quarter and your team has a comfortable lead, there’s only two reasonable things you can do. You can either sit down on the bench and cheer for your teammates, or you can throw on your coach’s sport jacket and pretend to coach the team. As you can see from the video above that @jeskeets shared with us, DeMarcus Cousins opted for the...
Jason Thompson has played his way into becoming someone the Kings are hoping to keep.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Marcus Thornton scored 31 points, DeMarcus Cousins had 23 points and five rebounds before fouling out and the Sacramento Kings held off the Memphis Grizzlies 119-110 on Tuesday night for only their second three-game winning streak this season.
Thornton added seven rebounds and six assists, and Tyreke Evans returned after missing the last two games because...
The Sacramento Kings have signed free agent Terrence Williams to a 10-day contract.
Kings President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie announced Williams' signing Wednesday. Williams sat courtside for Sacramento's 119-110 victory over Memphis on Tuesday night and was in the Kings locker room after the game.

Well. Where do I start? There was a lot of good things, some real negatives mixed in, and in general a positive win for the right reasons. Here is the box score.
Let's start with turnovers forced for Memphis: On Avg, the Grizzlies force 17.8 TO's a game. Including several late TO's when the game was already out of reach for Memphis, Sacramento committed 14 total TO&...
SACRAMENTO, March 21 – Each of the Memphis starters put up double figures in a losing effort to the Sacramento Kings.
In the end, it did not make a difference as the King’s Marcus Thornton put up 31 points and center DeMarcus Cousins threw in 23 for good measure to lead them to a 119-100 victory.
The young team is evolving and put together their third consecutive win.
The Sacramento Bee is reporting that former Cardinal Terrence Williams will sign a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings later today. Williams was waived by the Houston Rockets last week. The thought of Demarcus Cousins and Terrence Williams being on the same team is bizarre. However, it would entertaining to say the least. Below is an excerpt from SacBee.com.

OK, the Kings announcer initially says 'hammer job' but why does he say of DeMarcus Cousins' dunk on Marc Gasol at the :22 mark that it was also a 'hand job?'
